Dear players,
Thank you for your interest in Fire and Crown: A Romantic Tale of the Hundred Years’ War. The Demo Version 1.0 is now available. Below is a full overview of the demo content, as well as features that are not yet implemented.
Demo Content
The demo provides approximately 1.5 hours of gameplay, including:
1. Act I Story Experience

In these chapters, you will follow the protagonist, Phil Monstrelet, from the unrest in the streets of Paris to the battlefield of Azincourt, experiencing key moments of the Hundred Years’ War.

Jacquetta of Namur • Jeanne d'Arc of Domrémy • Anne of Burgundy
Each heroine includes an independent reading sample taken from the full version, showcasing their personalities, relationship directions, and narrative tone.
3. Collectibles & System Content
5 unlockable CGs • 26 encyclopedia entries (characters, history, worldbuilding) • 8 character dossiers • 7 in-game achievements • 4 “Dead End Classroom” segments
These features provide additional context and depth to the world and its characters.
Content Not Yet Implemented
The following items will be added in an upcoming update:
Expression variations for Henry V • Expression variations for the Duke of Brabant
These characters appear in the demo, but their full set of expressions is still in production.
Regarding Optimization and First-Time Loading Stutters
This game is developed with the Ren’Py engine. Due to the engine’s loading mechanism, the game may experience brief stutters or loading delays during the first launch or the first time entering certain scenes. This occurs because the engine builds caches and loads fonts and image resources during initial execution.
In testing, performance improves noticeably on the second launch, and most stutters only appear during initial caching. Resource sizes and loading processes have been optimized as much as possible, but first-time caching is part of the engine’s internal behavior and cannot be fully removed.
If you encounter brief stutters on your first run, simply wait a moment and the game will return to normal smoothness.
Closing Words
Thank you for giving this story set in the Hundred Years’ War a chance. The project is still being polished and expanded. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will directly help improve the full release.
We hope you will join us in witnessing this tale woven from flames and crowns.
