Hello everyone,
With this update, I have added several new features, improved existing systems, and polished many small details throughout the game. Alongside new quests, merchants, and cosmetic items, this update also includes technical improvements and bug fixes to make the overall experience more stable and enjoyable. As always, your feedback plays a huge role in shaping the game, so thank you to everyone who reports bugs, shares ideas, or simply takes the time to play.
I hope you enjoy the update, and thank you for your continued support 💚
1. New Content
The Academy
A new main questline is now available. By completing this questline, you unlock the Academy and can enter it afterwards.
Unstuck Button
A new button has been added to the in game menu. When used, you will be teleported to a safe location on your own island in case you get stuck.
Crash Report System
Since it is very important to me to find and fix errors, especially those that cause the game to crash, I have added a crash report system. When a crash occurs, a file named 'crash.dmp'is created in the 'crash' folder inside the main game directory. If you send this file to me, I can identify the cause of the crash much faster and fix it more easily. If you experience a crash, please send the file via email to 'contact@ucstudios.de'. Thank you very much for your help.
New Cosmetic Items
New furniture items have been added, including shelves, cabinets, tables, and chairs. In addition, two new cosmetic plants are now available for placement. This is a preparation step for your own house on the island, which you will be able to customize yourself in the future.
New Item and New Item Type Book
A new object type called Book has been added. When used, a book interface opens and provides information to the player. This allows explanations to be integrated directly into the game without relying on traditional UI tutorials. The first book, the Automation Book, is now available. Players who want to look things up can read it, while those who prefer discovering mechanics on their own can do so without being forced into tutorials.
Two New Merchants
Two new merchants have been added to the town. I received feedback that it is easy to accidentally sell important items, such as the bed, which can result in being unable to skip the night. While this is not a critical issue, I do not want situations like this to negatively impact the overall player experience. The new merchants sell basic items that are currently not craftable, allowing players to repurchase essential items if needed.
2. Bug Fixes
Fixed a load overflow issue that could occur when traveling to wild islands multiple times in a row.
3. Changes
Recipes have been adjusted. Some items now require the corresponding recipe to be unlocked in the appropriate building before they can be crafted.
A new setting has been added. Previously, the mouse cursor was locked to the game window in both windowed and fullscreen mode. This behavior is now optional and can be disabled in the 'Gameplay' tab.
Several items have been adjusted due to placement issues. Object placement has been improved so it should no longer be possible to place objects directly on the player, such as trapping yourself inside a fence without having a hammer.
Collision checks during object placement have been improved and are now more precise.
Some items have received new textures.
The introduction tutorial text has been revised in
