Hi Fellows,

A lot has happened since Fellowship first entered Early Access.

Whether you were there in Season 1, joined us during Season 2, or are completely new to the game, Season 3 is bringing some of the biggest changes we have made so far.

Rise of the Heskyr introduces a new chapter for Fellowship, with a new Hero, a complete progression overhaul, new endgame challenges, social improvements, and plenty of new ways to play.

Here is everything you need to know before jumping into Season 3.

Welcome to Rise of the Heskyr

Every season of Fellowship gives us a chance to explore something new. This time, we are going darker.

Season 3 introduces our first major seasonal theme: Rise of the Heskyr.

The Heskyr are a new faction built around ritual, devotion, and sacrifice. Their pursuit of power has transformed them into something far beyond ordinary beings, creating a new threat for Fellows to face.

This season explores a darker side of Fellowship, with new enemies, environments, visuals, and content all connected through one central theme:

Blood.

The arrival of the Heskyr brings new challenges to overcome; ushering in a new chapter for Fellowship.

Meet Gunde, our New Hero

A new melee DPS Hero is joining the Fellowship roster!

Gunde is a blood-fueled berserker inspired by Scandinavian folklore.

Unlike existing Heroes, Gunde focuses on building bleeds on his enemies through aggressive combat and turning every fight into an opportunity to grow stronger.

His playstyle revolves around collecting and spreading powerful bleed effects, creating moments where careful timing can lead to huge bursts of damage.

Whether you are a longtime player looking for a new main or a returning player looking for a fresh experience, Gunde brings a completely new way to approach combat.

If you want to see him in action you can watch our Core Skills Overview here:

Other Hero Updates

Season 3 does not just introduce a new Hero. Every existing Hero has received updates.

Yes you read that right, Every Hero has received some form of update. They range from Talent adjustments and balance changes to larger gameplay reworks. Some Heroes will feel familiar with new options to explore, while others may play significantly differently than they did in previous Seasons.

Loot 2.0: A New Approach to Items

One of the biggest changes in Season 3 is our complete overhaul of loot and itemization.

The goal is simple:

  • Finding gear should feel exciting.

Season 3 introduces a system where items have more identity, more potential, and more room to grow with your build instead of being replaced instantly or scrapped for materials.

Instead of constant replacement, players are encouraged to invest in promising items, improve them over time, and shape their build around what they find. We have added several new systems to help with this goal and some of them are:

Item Affixes, Traits, Blessings, and Gems

Items themselves have been redesigned from the ground up. Items now combine guaranteed core stats with a variety of randomized bonuses that can dramatically change how an item fits into a build.

Depending on the item and its Rarity, players may find (to a maximum of 3) bonuses that improve secondary stats, enhance weapon Traits, strengthen specific Blessings, or provide additional Gem power.

Gem sockets have also been reworked. While fewer items can roll sockets than before, Gems are no longer restricted by a global cap, creating more opportunities to experiment and customize builds.

Item Rarities

Rarity has also been reworked in Season 3. Previously, Item Rarity was directly tied to League progression. Now, rarities are distributed differently across the game, giving players more opportunities to find exciting gear throughout their journey.

As you climb through higher difficulties, the item level of gear increases and the chance of finding higher Rarity Items improves.

The highest rarities remain exclusive to later progression, meaning they cannot appear in earlier leagues, but players will have more variety in the gear they discover along the way.

Tempering

Tempering replaces the old upgrading system entirely. Instead of increasing item level through upgrades, items now drop with a fixed item level that increases with difficulty.

Tempering is then used to improve the stats on that item, making it stronger over time without changing its item level.

The items Rarity decides how many times it can be Tempered, up to a maximum of 8. This means a strong early drop can stay relevant much longer if you choose to invest in it. A good item is no longer something temporary. It can become part of your long term build identity.

Crafting changes

Crafting has been reworked to give players more meaningful control over their gear, without relying on repeated random rerolls. Instead of chasing small incremental upgrades or cycling through repeated attempts, crafting now focuses on directly shaping an item toward a desired outcome.

Players can take promising gear and invest into it in a more deliberate way, steering its identity over time rather than gambling for the right result. This shift makes crafting feel less like repetition and more like commitment. When you choose to invest into an item, you are actively deciding how it will fit into your build long term.

Crafting now plays a much bigger role in build creation overall. Combined with Item Rarity, Tempering, and the new affix system, it gives players more tools to turn a good drop into something truly build defining.

Attunements

Season 3 introduces Attunements, a new progression system tied to Necklaces.

As players find higher quality Necklaces, they will unlock access to Attunements that allow them to choose additional bonuses through a branching progression path.

Attunements provide a new layer of character progression that sits alongside gear, talents, and itemization. By moving much of a Hero's defensive power into this system, players can make meaningful survivability choices without sacrificing talent points which opens up the door for more interesting experimentation and new builds.

New Dungeons and a New Challenge

Dungeons are still at the heart of Fellowship, and Season 3 brings a mix of fresh content and updates to make every run feel more dynamic.

We are also adding two brand-new Dungeons in Season 3:

  • Scryer’s Peak

  • Ruins of Regath

Both introduce new environments, enemy encounters, and challenges to master as you progress through the season.

Existing Dungeons are also being revamped with:

  • New enemy placements

  • New route options

  • Environmental storytelling improvements

  • Updates to enemy mechanics

The goal is not to reinvent everything you already know, but to make familiar content feel new again.

Pinnacle Dungeon: Xul, the Blood Monolith

For players looking for the next step beyond standard endgame progression, Season 3 introduces Pinnacle Dungeons, starting with Xul, the Blood Monolith.

Xul, the Blood Monolith is designed as a Capstone-style Dungeon experience. Players will face three bosses in total, each increasing in difficulty and intensity as they push deeper into the encounter.

Pinnacle Dungeons also come in three difficulty tiers, allowing players to gradually scale up the challenge as they master the system.

This is not just another dungeon modifier or difficulty bump. It is a separate endgame path built for coordinated groups who want to push their limits beyond standard dungeon progression.

One of the biggest changes here is that Pinnacle Dungeons introduce the first weekly loot lockout in Fellowship. Rewards from Pinnacle Dungeons can only be earned once per week, making each clear feel meaningful rather than repeatable farming content.

Completing Pinnacle Dungeons rewards powerful crafting materials used to further enhance and refine gear. There is also a rare chance to earn an exclusive Mount.

Seasonal Challenges

Season 3 also introduces Seasonal Challenges, giving players new goals to work toward throughout the season.

Completing challenges rewards cosmetic items, including:

  • Titles

  • Banners

  • Profile customization options

  • Companions

  • Other seasonal rewards

These rewards are purely cosmetic. No gameplay power is locked behind Seasonal Challenges.

New Ways to Play Together

Fellowship is built around teamwork, and Season 3 makes it easier to find and stay with your group.

We are introducing new social systems, including Communities and Discord integration, alongside improvements to matchmaking.

Less time forming groups = More time playing together. Simple as that.

Improved matchmaking

Group formation is now faster and smoother. Players are matched more intelligently across playstyles and progression levels, reducing friction when jumping into content.

We are also introducing a new optional system called Odd Comp.

Odd-Comp

Odd Comp allows players to opt into matchmaking without needing a traditional holy trinity setup. Instead of requiring a tank healer and DPS composition, you can queue with flexible group setups and still complete content. Groups using Odd Comp will receive buffs depending on their composition to help support clear potential.

Standard matchmaking is still the default. Queues will always prioritize forming traditional holy trinity groups first, with Odd Comp acting as an opt in alternative for players who want more flexibility and faster queue times.

Leagues and Eternal Matchmaking Updates

We have also reduced the number of steps in each League. What was previously a 1-6 difficulty plus capstone has been streamlined into a 1-3 difficulty plus capstone.

Eternal difficulty matchmaking has also been updated. As players push higher, the allowed matchmaking range becomes narrower, creating tighter group bands at the top end. Previously this used a fixed five step span, which has now been replaced with a more dynamic scaling system that adjusts based on progression depth.

Matchmaking Incentives

Good groups should last.

Season 3 introduces Matchmaker's Boon, a new incentive designed to encourage players to continue adventuring together after a successful matchmade Dungeon.

If a group decides to stay together and keep running more content, all party members will receive a buff that increases the rewards gained at the end of future Dungeons as long as the group stays intact.

Communities

A new in game Communities system helps players find groups beyond their friends list. It creates a way to build connections naturally inside the game instead of relying only on external platforms.

Below is an example screenshot of some Communities from our Playtest server:

Discord integration

Discord is now integrated directly into the game. Inviting friends, joining parties, and starting runs takes much fewer steps and feels much more intuitive.

How does it work?

  1. Link your Discord account to your Fellowship account.

  2. Open your Friends List and click the + button to invite friends directly through Discord. (Players with Discord's Do Not Disturb status enabled cannot receive invites.)

    Steam post image

  3. Your friend will receive a Discord direct message containing a Join Party button.

  4. With a single click, they will automatically join your party in Fellowship and be ready to jump into a Dungeon.

New Customization

Season 3 is also expanding the ways you can make Fellowship feel like your own.

Customization has grown significantly since the earlier Seasons, with new systems, new rewards, and more ways to show off your progress and skill.

Mix and Match Your Look

One of the biggest changes coming to cosmetics is the new updated customization system.

Previously, cosmetic sets were equipped as a full outfit where the only thing you could really customize was the Trim. Now, players can mix and match individual cosmetic pieces across different sets.

Want one helmet with a different armor set? A different weapon with another outfit?

Now you can!

This gives players much more freedom to create their own unique style instead of being locked into a single look.

Here are some examples of some of our favorite mixes and matches:

New Seasonal and Premium Cosmetics

Season 3 also introduces a new wave of cosmetic releases, including an all new Summer Skin and Mount series. Every Hero are getting their own Summer Skin so no one should feel left out!

Alongside this, we are also introducing new Premium Skins and Mounts, designed with a higher level of detail and visual impact.

Pets

Season 3 introduces Pets, a brand-new "collectible" system.

Players can unlock, collect and buy different Companions and bring them along on their adventures!

Profile Customization

Profile customization is another completely new system arriving in Season 3. Players can personalize their profile with Icons, Banners and Titles, giving you more ways to show off your journey beyond your Hero.

A New Chapter Begins

Season 3 is not just another update.

It is a major step forward for Fellowship.

We have taken feedback from previous Seasons, rebuilt important systems, and continued pushing toward the kind of game we want Fellowship to become.

We cannot wait to see you in Rise of the Heskyr when Early Access Season 3 launches on June 22.

See you in the Stronghold.
