Fellowship changes
Hi Fellows,
In case you missed it, last night Game Director Axel Lindberg and Community Director Hamish Bode sat down to take a deeper look at some of the biggest changes and additions coming in Season 3 (and spoil a few surprises along the way)
From the complete itemization overhaul to new progression systems, Dungeon updates, Companions, Hero reworks, and more, there's a lot arriving on June 22. Here is a quick summary of what we covered.
⚠️ This Stream contained major Season 3 spoilers, so if you would rather discover everything for yourself when the update launches, now might be a good time to look away! ⚠️
If you missed the Roundtable and would like to watch it in full, you can do so here:
A New Itemization System
Season 3 introduces yet another itemization update.
A major part of this update is the move from item Upgrading to Tempering. Rather than being a system that only matters once you have reached the endgame, Tempering is designed to be valuable throughout your entire journey. We want players to feel comfortable investing in gear while progressing through the leagues instead of feeling like they should save every resource until they finally reach maximum Item Level.
Tempering an Item does the following things:
+1 to Stamina
+1 to Main Stat
+1 to Secondary Stat
The rarity of the Item decides how many times you can Temper an Item.
Uncommon Items can be Upgraded to a maximum of 4 times
Rare Items can be Upgraded to a maximum of 5 times
Epic Items can be Upgraded to a maximum of 6 times
Heroic Items can be Upgraded to a maximum of 7 times
Regal Items can be Upgraded to a maximum of 8 times
We have also introduced Soul Dust, which replaces the old Ingot system and gives players new ways to shape their gear. Through Rarity Upgrades, Modifier Rerolls, and the new Flooding mechanics, players can now intentionally work toward specific best-in-slot items rather than relying purely on lucky drops. These systems were covered more in depth in the previous Roundtable interview with Axel.
You can find a written summary of that here: view
And see the previous video here: View store page
One of our goals with the new system is to ensure lower-rarity items can remain exciting finds. A well-rolled blue item may become the foundation for an incredible endgame piece once you start investing crafting resources into it.
Hero Reworks & New Build Possibilities
Every Hero has received updates as part of Season 3.
While we used Meiko as an example during the stream, the broader goal goes beyond simple balance adjustments.
With Defensive Talents being reworked, new itemization systems being introduced, and Hero kits receiving updates, many Heroes will feel significantly different to play compared to Season 2. In Meiko's case, we have increased her baseline survivability and shifted power away from Talents that felt mandatory. Combined with the new itemization system, Traits, Blessings, and Finesses, players will have significantly more freedom when experimenting with builds across the entire roster.
Refreshed Dungeon Routes
Many existing dungeons have been updated with:
New enemy placements
New route options
Environmental storytelling improvements
Updates to enemy mechanics
The goal is not to make players relearn every dungeon from scratch.
Instead, we want dungeons to feel familiar while still providing fresh routing decisions, new pull opportunities, and new challenges to solve. As Axel described during the stream, you should still feel like you're running Wyrmheart or Ransack - but you will find yourself approaching them differently.
Alongside route changes, we have also been updating enemy mechanics across the game. Several enemies have received improvements designed to create more interesting gameplay while reducing frustrating interactions.
Companions Arrive in Season 3
Season 3 introduces Companions, a new Cosmetic Collection system.
Players will be able to unlock and collect a variety of Companions through gameplay and other rewards, adding another long-term progression path for collectors.
Seasonal Challenges
We are also introducing a new Seasonal Challenge system.
Challenges provide a wide range of objectives that reward players with:
Profile customization options
Titles
Banners
Icons
Companions
Additional cosmetic rewards
There will be more Challenges available than required to earn all rewards, allowing players to choose the content they enjoy most.
Note: The Seasonal Challenges will ONLY reward Cosmetics, no Hero Power will be locked behind it
Pinnacle Dungeons
We also shared some details about Pinnacle Dungeons, our new endgame challenge system.
One of the design problems we wanted to solve was how to create aspirational content that exists alongside Eternal progression rather than replacing it.
Pinnacle Dungeons are designed as a parallel challenge path.
Instead of dropping gear directly, they reward Bloodstones, a powerful crafting resources that can instantly transform promising items into endgame-worthy Items.
This approach allows Pinnacle Dungeons to contribute meaningful progression while avoiding the feeling that players are simply replacing one mandatory gear treadmill with another.
We are intentionally keeping many of the surprises hidden for now, and we cannot wait to watch players discover these challenges together when Season 3 launches.
Matchmaking Improvements
Season 3 includes several matchmaking improvements aimed at making it easier and more rewarding to jump into games.
Odd Comp Matchmaking
Has been discussed in previous Roundtable and written about here: view
Players will be able to opt into matchmaking that allows unconventional team compositions, creating new ways to experience Dungeons while helping queue times remain healthy throughout progression.
Note: Odd-Comp queues are not separate from the "normal" queues. The queue will always prioritize Holy Trinity groups.
Matchmaker's Boon
Players who continue running dungeons with the same matchmaking group will receive additional rewards, encouraging groups to stay together and keep the adventure going.
Communities & Discord Integration
Season 3 introduces Communities, Discord integration, and new social tools designed to make it easier than ever to connect with friends and organize groups.
How does it work?
Link your Discord account to your Fellowship account.
Open your Friends List and click the + button to invite friends directly through Discord. (Players with Discord's Do Not Disturb status enabled cannot receive invites.)
Steam post image
Your friend will receive a Discord direct message containing a Join Party button.
With a single click, they will automatically join your party in Fellowship and be ready to jump into a Dungeon.
New Cosmetics & Customization
Season 3 brings a huge range of new Cosmetics, including:
New Premium Skins
Summer-themed Skins for every Hero
Additional Mounts
Expanded Profile Customization options
As stated before in a previous Campfire Checkpoint, players will also be able to mix and match Cosmetic pieces by slot, allowing for much more customization options than before.

June 22
In case you forgot, Season 3 launches on June 22.
Between the new Hero, three new Dungeons, itemization overhaul, Pinnacle Dungeons, Companions, Seasonal Challenges, Communities, Discord integration, and extensive Hero updates, this is one of the biggest updates we have ever released for Fellowship.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Roundtable, participated in testing, and shared feedback throughout development.
We cannot wait to see you in the Stronghold.
