New Objective, Reworked Rewards & Balancing
This update brings a new run objective, a reworked Giant reward system, an expanded tutorial, and several balance adjustments.
New run objective
No more collecting 200 gold coins: you now have to keep the Altar's fire burning until daybreak. Last until dawn, and the Giants pay your rent.
Runs are shorter (~20 minutes) for a more intense experience.
Reworked Giant rewards
When you unlock a reward, a screen now appears directly with three bonus cards, one per Giant. (No more notification to click, no camera pullback, no dialogue.)
Pick a card: the others vanish and the bonus applies immediately.
The game pauses while you choose, no pressure.
Every Giant makes you an offer, even the unhappy ones.
- Safety netif you have fewer than 4 children left, a card will always offer you a new one, so you're never stuck.
Cards respond to hover for better readability.
Expanded tutorial
New steps teach you the essentials: stashing a resource in your chest (kept between runs), building a storehouse, crafting a torch to explore the dark, and gathering resources to bring back.
Quality of life & storage
You can now drop resources straight onto the storehouse window, and move items between your chest and the storehouse without dropping them on the ground.
Camera adjustments (framing and a subtle motion for a livelier view).
Balance
Campfire & fuels rebalanced: several resources feed the fire differently.
Heavier rain: downpours are stronger and denser.
Fixes
Resource stacks now combine correctly when you group them.
During the tutorial, the fire and its light halo no longer go haywire, and a child thrown into the flames respawns (no more soft-lock).
The "feed children only one type of food" challenge now correctly detects violations.
Various fixes and polish.
Thanks for testing the demo and sharing your feedback!
