Faraway Islands changes
Hello everyone
I've just released a small/ish update (at least from the player perspective), with the most prominent feature being the one that should probably have been in the game from the start —the unstuck button.
Even after all my attempts to mitigate it, there is always someone who gets stuck in between objects. So I finally got myself to implement it. ːlunar2019crylaughingpigː
As for my bad habit, I refactored, cleaned, and updated a lot of older code. Which is not visible to a player, but makes me sleep better and makes the game run a little bit smoother.
As a result, there are a few small UI, gameplay, and other tweaks and fixes.
Unstuck button
To use the unstuck button, you have to stay still for 20 seconds, then open the pause menu. Then it will appear beside the top page buttons. You will get teleported to a random position on the same island.
Other changes and bugsfixes:
A new in-game "Unstuck" guide page is available from the start.
Hovering over the save button now shows the time since the last save (in minutes).
Fixed changing from "Fullscreen" to "Borderless" option not doing anything.
Borderless fullscreen is now the default display mode.
Time progress is now paused in the menu, so it's always day there.
Changing gamepad button binding did not work properly.
Opening buildings with extended crafting did not work when you were a few pixels too far away.
The crafting menu is now always open until a player clicks or does something else. (It previously closed after every successfully crafted recipe)
Fixed an arrow/bolt or pebble sprite drawn in front of a player when rafting with a bow/crossbow or slingshot equipped.
Fixed moving a building (chest, bed, ...) by a gamepad having a wrong initial position.
Fixed gamepad control helper for healing items showing "Wear" instead of "Use".
Fixed item dragging not resetting when the inventory is closed and reopened.
Fixed the composter refusing to create a fertilizer in some edge cases.
Fixed the ability to transfer items from inventory to dead animals by swapping items.
Fixed the ability to transfer items from inventory to incompatible object slots, either by swapping items or quick transfer.
Construction is now blocked when a player is rafting or swimming.
I'm sure there have been other fixes, text/translation adjustments, and other things I forgot to write down, but at least I have something in the changelog above. ːlunar2019grinningpigː
If you have any suggestions, found a bug, or have any other issue, make a thread in the game's Steam discussion section.
Thanks to everyone who has or will play my game. Have a nice day.
