Fallen Sword II changes
Does this sound familiar? WASD to move. Hit 1234567890. Repeat until out of stamina…or until accidentally dead.
In Fallen Sword II, combat looks a little different. While still honouring our RPG roots, we’re bringing more strategy and flexibility to the battle side of things.
Grab a brew, adventurer, and let’s talk about the new paths for combat coming to Fallen Sword II.
SKILL PATHS
Skill Paths (Pathways) are themed trees that let you unlock Actions and passive Skills using Skill Points earned by leveling up. Each path supports a different combat style.
(For the classic FS players who put all their points into Damage, the Warrior path may be for you.)
| Steam post image | PATH OF THE WARRIOR A raging fighter focused on building Strength and overwhelming foes with relentless damage. Affinity with Lightning. |
| Steam post image | PATH OF THE MAGE Offensive spellcaster focused on building Power and unleashing elemental spells. Crowd-control abilities shut down enemy enhancements and skills. Affinity with Fire and Ice. |
| Steam post image | PATH OF THE ROGUE Precision attacker focused on building Accuracy and Dexterity. Creates weak points in enemy armour and cripples foes with debilitating bleeds and poisons. Affinity with Dark. |
| Steam post image | PATH OF THE GUARDIAN Stalwart defender focused on building Endurance. Designed to outlast opponents through superior damage mitigation skills. Affinity with Earth. |
| Steam post image | PATH OF THE CLERIC Divine caster focused on building Vitality and Piety. Can heal wounds and rid the body of negative status effects. Affinity with Light. |
| Steam post image | PATH OF THE RANGER A swift hunter focused on building Evasion and Dexterity. Avoids damage with agile movements and can call a mighty bear to their side. Affinity with Wind and Water. |
You can learn skills from multiple paths, combining them to achieve the ultimate build for any fight. You can even master every path, should you want to.
ELEMENTAL COMBAT
Damage is no longer one-punch-fits-all.
Alongside Normal damage, we’re introducing eight new elemental damage types: Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Lightning, Water, Light, and Dark.
Enemies may be weak, resistant, or immune to certain elements. Study your foes, and choose your abilities and equipment with care.
This is only the beginning. As you explore the new battle system, you can experiment with different Skill Paths, Actions, and elemental combinations to find what works best for you.
We can’t wait to see the unique builds and strategies you create!
Stand by for news of when you'll be able to try out the new combat for yourselves.
