changedFirst of all, I need to share the following announcement from Blumhouse Games, the publisher for Eyes of Hellfire: [dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1724030/view/672869678795719129"]
changedEyes of Hellfire will remain live and available on Steam as-is (including multiplayer as there are no servers), and we hope everyone can continue to enjoy what we built with their friends.
addedThe team that came together to make and release Eyes of Hellfire was second to none and I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your part in making the game. Not only did we make something unusual and new (always risky!), the ways it came together blew my initial hopes for the project right out of the water. I am intensely proud of Eyes of Hellfire, and very glad I got to work with you to make it.

Dear players,

Colm Larkin here, the founder of Gambrinous, the studio that made Eyes of Hellfire.

First of all, I need to share the following announcement from Blumhouse Games, the publisher for Eyes of Hellfire: [dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1724030/view/672869678795719129"]

As detailed, Blumhouse Games has made the decision to wind down development on Eyes of Hellfire which unfortunately means there will be no more additional content released for the game.

Eyes of Hellfire will remain live and available on Steam as-is (including multiplayer as there are no servers), and we hope everyone can continue to enjoy what we built with their friends.

A little background on us - we are a small team based in Ireland, trying our best to make original games that take inspiration from tabletop and board games. Eyes of Hellfire was our attempt to bring the social side of a boardgame night to a horror game experience, including a dash of Irish folklore along the way.

The team that came together to make and release Eyes of Hellfire was second to none and I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your part in making the game. Not only did we make something unusual and new (always risky!), the ways it came together blew my initial hopes for the project right out of the water. I am intensely proud of Eyes of Hellfire, and very glad I got to work with you to make it.

Blumhouse Games took a bet on this project early on, and helped fund development of the game to a scale we could not have managed by ourselves. I’d like to thank them for believing in the game and us as a team, and for being thoughtful and professional collaborators as we brought the game to life.

As sad as I am to see further development stopped, I do want to acknowledge that the games market is harder than ever to succeed in, and sometimes these things can’t be helped.

Finally, thank you to everyone who played the game. Your feedback and excitement was both helpful and inspiring. I’m sorry we can’t give you more Hellfire, but I hope you consider supporting what we make next.

Colm Larkin

Ps. It is also worth noting that Eyes of Hellfire was part funded by the EU (through the Creative Europe MEDIA fund) and by Ireland (through the Digital Games Tax Relief), and I thank both for their support.
