changedI look at the code that I wrote for this game at the start and it's incredible how much I've learned since, and I am more than ever aware of how much I really have left to learn about being a developer. From writing the code, testing, marketing, UI design, game design, and balance. These is so much to do, but such a beauty to watching everything come together.
addedAdded: -Enemies now have the ability to store up to 4 weapon slots with their respective stats & ID. BEEG multi-weapon enemies *soon*. -Steam Stats?! I added a basic implementation of Steamwork's stats to capture the 3 most "important" stats:

Terrytorial Disputes has exceeded my wildest expectations since I started working on it a year and a half ago. In my eyes, TD is just beginning; the systems are stable and ready to be filled with content. The past year and a half has merely been the tutorial level, the warm-up; the real race starts now. We have just made it to the starting line.

I look at the code that I wrote for this game at the start and it's incredible how much I've learned since, and I am more than ever aware of how much I really have left to learn about being a developer. From writing the code, testing, marketing, UI design, game design, and balance. These is so much to do, but such a beauty to watching everything come together.

I'm consciously trying to avoid writing a classic Terry overly verbose wall of text, so... Terrytorial Disputes is Terry, and Terry is me. This game is, at the end of the day, a reflection of my inner childhood and my personal tastes in video games and media. It's my vision realized in a specific package. I feel like a parent, fearing if I've truly done enough to prepare my child for the real world. But the time is now, and the only way the game and I can grow is through your feedback.

Day 0 Update: June 14th - June 26th, 2023 V1.9

Added: -Enemies now have the ability to store up to 4 weapon slots with their respective stats & ID. BEEG multi-weapon enemies *soon*. -Steam Stats?! I added a basic implementation of Steamwork's stats to capture the 3 most "important" stats:

  • Total Enemies Killed, Total Funds Generated, Total Chunks Generated

  • This'll be aggregated across everyone, I hope this will provide some cool numbers.

  • I intend to research how to set up the steam leader boards in a future update.

-A check to prevent double expansion, should prevent 2 chunks from spawning in low frame rate situations

Fixed:

  • Added Static meshes for the Vic Depots, and replaced the door animator with a some Lean Tweens. Performance.

  • First chunk should now be a regular straight chunk, this is to prevent water or complex chunks from spawning.

  • Reduced Damage & Range of the Bomb Carrier's self-destruct explosion.

  • Power-Booster should work now as intended, We taught Terry basic math again.

  • Bug where the Card Shop would display only the hidden icons, even if the technology was purchased.

  • Changed how the the white repair "blink" is coded, now it should be a tiny bit more performant, and ideally not get stuck in white.

  • Iron Walls should now block projectiles as intended

  • Innumerable changes to stats in Turrets, Structures, and Technology. I am content with the current balance.

  • Tech Tree Fixed for the 5th time, I believe that the act of creating a new scriptable object to hold the technologies caused the technology's UIDs to get reset as opposed to directly copied. My theory & testing shows that switching to instantiating the tree is more reliable. This caused the Tech Tree to have to be fully wiped and reset, this will be ideally the last and only time this has to be done.
