TL;DR: you may see more than either of us would like. apologies in advance.
hey. life's been tough. my antidepressants aren't working as well as they did. my body's following suit. current hypothesis is no longer that i'm dying, but that i've instead developed a chronic illness. we don't know which one.
this project is something very important to me. i love it more than i love myself (which i suppose is not saying much, but still). but working enough to get something meaningful out there is getting progressively more difficult. i get out of bed less and less. i have the energy to think less and less. i don't think it's out of the question i may be out of an ability to create in a couple months or years. and that's scary. so far, you've only seen the prologue of a much greater story. with parts that are orders of magnitude better than you've seen in EEI0. and i want to show them.
at the moment, i'm jumping from sequel to sequel, idea to idea, looking for any way to expand upon the series and continue the story while still being able to work on it myself. and i'm coming up blank. eating is pretty much the only thing that gives me any faint glimmer of joy anymore, and even that's fading. it's hard to motivate yourself to work on a grand idea when you sometimes can't even bring yourself to the dining room.
so, i think i'll be changing my approach.
i've recently started experimenting with an alternative way of putting art out there. more fragmented. made in shorter bursts. easier pills to swallow. and it's slightly working. it's not perfect - not even close, no. but it's better than nothing. and i'd like to bring that here.
Post-Mortem is a fully free DLC to Everything Ends In 0. it won't change anything about the original game, don't worry. it's much more of a separate thing. and i'll be giving you an extremely incomplete version of it. unpolished. aimless. unfinished. broken. subject to change. and it's gonna *hurt* for me to do it. but the alternative is worse. i'll be updating it as time goes on - whenever both my mind and my body let me. it'll be slow development, but unlike now, you'll see it, and i'll be able to get feedback instead of letting anxiety and feature creep eat me up from the inside.
don't worry. this isn't some snake oil, early-access, take-your-money-and-run-away scheme. the game's gonna stay free, and the DLC is free as well. you won't be losing anything other than immersion, and that's only if you choose to play it as it's coming out.
sorry for everything.
