Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the fourth of our Conductor logs, where the passengers build a glider and search for a facility to raid:

Day 4: Scouting

I woke to the sounds of Gunner and Pilot hard at work, tinkering with the final touches of this massive workstation I could barely wrap my head around.

It was meant to build us a glider, though I wasn't sure how. Pilot just told me to get the materials. Over the course of the day, we hauled various materials to it. I stood and watched as the machine did its magic, turning a pile of scrap into a glider - our new eyes in the sky.

I didn't have much of a chance to admire the machine before Pilot grabbed it off the workstation. I tried to busy myself, but my eyes kept wandering to Pilot, who was hunched over the glider, configuring it and making sure any issues they could spot were fixed before the initial launch. With a satisfied hum, Pilot beckoned me over, and together we hauled the glider into the launcher.

I watched a small smirk appear on Pilot's face as they started to work on the controls.

I watched on a small screen as the glider rose from the belly of the train, soaring into the sky. Pilot was careful, at first at least. Their fingers hovered tentatively over the controls, slowly learning the limits of this new piece of equipment.

Pilot was clearly born for this. Before I could even wrap my head around it, they were off, soaring away from the train. They were faster than the train, looping through the air as if to mock our grounded state. But the fun didn't last long, as Pilot started scanning the tracks, watching for any sign of a facility where we could stop and gather more supplies.

About twenty minutes later, Pilot shouted out in excitement, they'd found one, just beyond the next junction.

Before they could even finish explaining where it was, I was already sprinting to the cockpit, informing Driver of the route. One left turn and we'd be there.

I made my way back to the Expedition Wagon, finding Gunner standing there with a wide grin on their face. My hand touched my Exosuit, and with a deep breath, I pulled it out of its storage, ready to face what was to come.
