Hello Everyone!

We've just released a hotfix to the Demo of EverRail, which fixes a number of issues and enables multiplayer so you and up to 3 others can explore the Tracklands of Inara together!

We want to take a moment to thank you all for the feedback so far, and for the bug reports you've been sending us! Creating EverRail is going to be a collaborative effort with you, our community, and every bit of feedback and every report we get helps us out!

Now, without further ado, here's the full patch notes for this update:

New Features

Character & Inventory

  • Added a Player Stats screen integrated into the inventory.

  • Save menu has been visually rebuilt with updated UI styling.

New World Content

  • Added new Modular Sci-Fi Station trackland locations/variants that can appear in the world.

Missions & Challenges

  • Challenge/mission screens now explain which sections must be completed to unlock missions.

  • Improved challenge screen localization and readability.

Gameplay Improvements

Controls & Interaction

  • You can now exit the cockpit with the F key regardless of where you're looking.

  • Interactions now prioritize objects closer to the center of the screen, making targeting more intuitive.

  • Interaction targeting has been relaxed so you don't need to look as precisely at objects.

  • Aiming, shooting, sprinting, and tool use input bindings have been reworked and can now be properly rebound in settings.

  • Opening and closing UI screens now consistently use the same input.

Tutorial & Onboarding

  • Tutorial flow has been simplified:

    • Starts with a simpler ration objective.

    • Clearer objectives and sub-objectives.

    • Better guidance for equipping items and using the toolbelt.

    • Weapon tutorial progression is less likely to block players.

    • Automatic progression added if players don't equip the tutorial weapon.

UI & Accessibility

  • Correct measurement units are now displayed throughout the game.

  • Improved settings menu navigation and button hover feedback.

  • Improved inventory layout and readability.

  • Energy production text is easier to read.

  • Durability values are now shown correctly in inventory.

Multiplayer Improvements

  • Multiplayer is now enabled for the demo

  • Fixed clients being unable to use recyclers placed by the host.

  • Fixed sprinting issues for clients.

  • Fixed several client-side gunplay problems:

    • ADS

    • Reloading

    • Firing rate synchronization

  • Fixed player markers not syncing correctly.

  • Fixed passenger countdown issues on clients.

  • Reduced delay when opening inventory for the first time as a client.

  • Fixed inventory ownership/save issues that could occur when players reconnected.

  • Improved multiplayer handling of exosuit loadouts.

Combat & Gameplay Fixes

  • Enemies no longer shoot while stumbling.

  • Fixed a bug where using a tool could consume multiple items with a single press.

  • Fixed hacking device durability issues that could break the toolbelt.

  • Fixed remaining durability not displaying correctly.

  • Improved interaction behavior around ragdolls and lootable objects.

World & Exploration

  • Fixed dead ends in the rail network.

  • Added proper snow track materials.

  • Improved loot container visuals and synchronization.

  • Loot containers now disappear correctly when emptied.

  • Fixed some dungeon loot container visual inconsistencies.

Cockpit & Camera Fixes

  • Leaving free camera mode now returns your character to the correct facing direction.

  • You can no longer exit the cockpit while using the reverse camera.

  • Camera setup and positioning have been adjusted.

Audio & Visual Improvements

  • Lowered volume of glider isotope collection audio.

  • Consumable items now play the proper eating sound effect.

  • Updated icon and visual model for the Small General Storage chest.

  • Added visual polish to storage containers and various world objects.

Quest & Progression Fixes

  • Fixed lab missions incorrectly remaining active after loading a save.

  • Fixed looting chest information not appearing correctly on the board computer.

  • Various localization and text fixes throughout challenges, inventory, and UI.
