Erenshor changes
For the past few months, I've been working on the next phase of Erenshor, and it's coming together in a really exciting way.
The trailer above is a bit of a teaser, but read on for more of the features and additions that are coming with this patch. Happy to treat this one as a bit of a days long AMA, so feel free to ask and if the answer is a set-in-stone feature I'll be sure to reply.
How many simplayers can join the raid?
3 groups can join in on the raids, totaling 15 players (14 simplayers + player).
How many raids are going to be available when the update drops?
There will be 4 full raids available at launch
How do I access the raids?
By playing through the existing Erenshor quests. You have to find runes in the world to open raid portals, done via quests. All portals are hosted in the Reliquary.
Do I need a maxed out Character to raid?
Raids are balanced around max level (35) characters who are well geared and have a few ascension levels (similar to EverQuest’s AA points). Players do not need to have fully upgraded all of their gear or gained every Ascension to raid. In fact, being fully maxed may trivialize some early raid content (which is fine, enjoy your earned power!)
How many bosses will be available?
20+
What are the names of the raids?
Fernalla’s Plane of the Willow
Vitheo’s Plane of Honor
Brax’s Plane of Elements
Soluna’s Celestial Plane
How does raid progression work?
Each raid is split into tiers of difficulty and players are encouraged to adventure into all four raids as they progress:
Tier 1: Raid trash drops class specific armor, which is unique to its raid zone. Players will farm armor to gain power in each raid.
Tier 2: Players will become strong enough to challenge early raid bosses across all raids, who will drop even more powerful gear like capes, jewelry, and weapons.
Tier 3: Players become stronger and can challenge the harder raid bosses for even more powerful gear.
Tier 4: Players challenge the Gods of the planes!
How long does the average “Raid Play Session” need to be?
Many of the raids are set up in ways that you can unlock shortcuts by being powerful enough to beat a boss, allowing you to leave and continue later without having to clear a ton of trash again.
Players can make meaningful progress in as little as 15-20 minutes by farming class armor drops.
How many new items will be available?
The “Planar March” Update will introduce over 120 new equippable gear pieces and over a dozen new spells or skills to the game
How many hours of content are the incoming raids?
Raids in the “Planar March” patch will add 30-40 hours of content for the average player, and much more if you are a completionist
Will bosses have unique mechanics?
Yes, many of the raid bosses require strategy and will make players plan their attacks. Players will be able to prepare their SimPlayers to navigate these mechanics through the new raid UI.
Is this the end of the game?
No, these four raids will lead into a fifth and final raid, available in a later update. That will be the last major content addition before 1.0.
Can I be a tester?
There is always ongoing closed / small group testing. Access is typically offered to active members of the Erenshor Discord community.
