Hello everyone!
We continue our promise of delivering updates to our Playable Teaser throughout the Kickstarter campaign, so here is another one. These improvements and bug fixes comes directly from your reports and suggestions, so please keep us sending more! We are already working on future patches, together with some visual enemies overhaul and huge lighting improvements.
Improvements
Reworked enemy combat behavior.
Enemies now move without sliding.
Added more enemy idle animations.
Improved enemy rotation during combat.
Added and improved enemy running attacks.
Improved camera shots during dialogues.
Added a frame rate limit / improved default performance settings to prevent the game from pushing the GPU to 100% already in the menu.
Added mouse sensitivity settings.
Improved camera controls, especially when changing camera distance and when the camera moves along walls.
Rebalanced fall damage. Fall damage now scales better with fall height.
Changed combat music behavior: combat music now starts from the beginning when entering combat, while exploration music works as before.
Improved the audio mix, including overly loud music and waterfalls.
Improved waterfall audio range so they are no longer heard from absurd distances, for example inside caves.
Added clearer labels for the TRADER / INVENTORY windows during trading.
Fixed the starting tutorial screen so it now shows the correct mouse attack inputs.
Improved the detection range of interactive objects so interaction prompts appear from a more reasonable distance.
Improved the readability of interactive objects, making it easier to recognize what can be interacted with.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the game could start in pause mode.
Fixed an issue where weapons could sometimes disappear from the inventory after restarting the game.
Fixed an issue where unequipping a weapon from the inventory while it was drawn could leave the character stuck in a combat pose.
Fixed an issue where the character could keep running for a short moment after pressing F1.
Fixed character sliding after selecting the inventory menu.
Fixed character sliding after jumping and picking up an item at the same time.
Fixed an issue where opening the inventory mid-air could lock the camera on the inventory view while the character could still move and stats such as stamina and health were not decreasing correctly.
Fixed missing collisions with NPCs.
Fixed Kael getting stuck in place after being knocked down.
Fixed missing hit reaction animations for Howlers when they were not attacking.
Fixed incorrect healing over time from food when the player’s maximum HP was increased.
Fixed the Golden Howler Stew recipe.
Fixed the Golden Howler recipe note not being possible to open.
Fixed missing text in cooking recipes.
Fixed missing description for Howler Eden-Style.
Fixed some meal names appearing in English in the Polish language version.
Fixed the missing food icon for Scaldnic in the bottom-right healing UI.
Fixed missing names for several plants, including Cave Crystalwort and the plant from the mine.
Fixed the missing name of one item with an icon resembling a feather.
Fixed swapped or incorrectly named jewelry and documents inventory menus.
Fixed option buttons, especially dropdown menus where players had to click next to the actual button.
Fixed switching language to the right.
Fixed broken text layout in the Crystal Lamp recipe.
Fixed a localization issue where the Crystal Lamp displayed the [c]CRYSTAL_LAMP[/c] key.
Fixed incorrect quest journal status translations: [c]CURRENT[/c], [c]FAILED[/c], [c]FINISHED[/c].
Fixed an issue in the mine where a rock displayed the “talk” interaction even though the player received a note.
Fixed missing voice acting during repeated conversations with Duncan and Oscar for “teach me something” and “I want to trade”.
Fixed missing voice acting for Nikos’ “go away” line.
Fixed item category names in the inventory always displaying in Polish regardless of the selected language.
Fixed “Game Progress” in the inventory not being translated into other languages.
Fixed a double colon in the Astrals cost when learning stats, for example [c]Astrals:: 15[/c].
Fixed the club using a sword sound.
Fixed the sword equip sound playing 2–3 times.
Further adjusted waterfall sounds, which were still too loud and had too much range despite previous volume reductions.
Disabled world interactions while the weapon is drawn, preventing the player from attacking an NPC and starting a conversation with them at the same time.
Recommendation
After updating, we recommend starting a new game to avoid issues with old saves and to properly experience all fixed quests.
