I've been working on improving the seed challenge flow and the overall leaderboard experience in Empire at Risk. The main goal was making runs easier to compare and replay between players.

The biggest addition here is definitely the ability to directly replay setups from leaderboard entries. That feature is important for the direction I want to push the game toward: Shared tactical situations and replayable strategic scenarios.

Even though Empire at Risk is relatively small in scope, I think replayability through seeds can create a lot of interesting discussions:

  • different expansion routes

  • early region priorities

  • chokepoint control

  • aggressive vs safer openings

I've launched the first weekend seed challenge:

  • Seed: 6449

  • Rows: 3

  • Columns: 3

  • Actions: 3

  • Mode: Random

I'm very curious to see how different players approach the same setup.
