changedWhats going on?This upcoming update will be the first of a series of major patches we will be releasing throughout the year and this update in particular will be focusing on updating the systems behind Emberdoom. In the upcoming update the multiplayer system will be steam matchmaking based opposed to the UNET system we were using previously. For those unfamiliar to UNET, It is essentially the built in matchmaking system for the Unity Engine and it has recently become unsupported and is no longer sustainable for us to use in the long term. We have also upgraded the version of Unity that Emberdoom was built on due to it being 2 years out of date at this point. This will allow us to explore many of the new technical features that have been released by Unity so we are looking forward to implementing some of those soon too.

addedWhat else is being added to the game that wont be included in the next update?Currently we are exploring the idea of additional playable classes for Emberdoom. We have many planned out but the amount of classes we will add is still to be determined. I would also like to include new enemies and playable maps in the very near future and later down the line we might even implement a short story mode to shed some light on what Emberdoom is all about. The game does in fact have a full story with the idea of producing more Emberdoom games in the future that would be much more story based but I wouldn't expect to see anything like that for a long time due to our other planned projects that will be releasing before any additional Emberdoom games.

Hello everyone!

First I would like to apologize for the long radio silence on our part in regards to updates and information on the development of Emberdoom. We've been working on an assortment of much needed changes to the game and the systems that help it run.

Whats going on?

This upcoming update will be the first of a series of major patches we will be releasing throughout the year and this update in particular will be focusing on updating the systems behind Emberdoom.

Whats coming soon?

Within the next few weeks we hope to release this update which will include a whole bunch of things, some of which include:

  • Upgraded Unity engine version

  • Implemented Steam multiplayer systems

  • Fixed player animation blending

  • Added a healing mechanic to the defense crystal using souls

  • Buffed the paladin basic attack

  • Many UI and general graphics changes

What to expect going forward?

Going forward we would like to be more transparent about updates and the work we put into the game. Expect more blog style updates like this in the future which will showcase what we've been up to and what to expect when it comes to additions to the game or possibly delays in development and other things of that nature.

What else is being added to the game that wont be included in the next update?

Currently we are exploring the idea of additional playable classes for Emberdoom.

Thanks for all the support

I would just like to thank everyone who has supported Emberdoom such as those who've purchased or followed the game and those who've posted videos and other things of that nature about Emberdoom.
