Electioneering changes
We just rolled an update out, which we hope adds some interesting strategic depth!
When you look at a State detail screen, you now get information on how the candidate is fundraising in the state. You can hover over the Issues, and you will see an estimate of how much money the Candidate is raising from that state each turn! The fundraising a candidate does in a state is a function of two things. Firstly how widespread an issue is in the state and secondly how important the voters in that state consider that issue.
The importance is different from approval, you can think an issue is important, and it does not speak to who you favour. Use these new insights to decide which Issues you support or sabotage to help your candidate out! This update is mostly to introduce the new fundraising system. Before this, the candidate fundraising was more linear and simple. The graphs are just the first way we're surfacing that information, so we wanted to get that out to you!
We also made changes to the save game system. There was a condition resulting in generation of "orphaned" save files if you were overwriting an existing save. We made some changes to the system to avoid that and to clean up any orphaned files. There seem to be some issues with loading certain saves when combined with the new Fundraising system. If you are affected by this and want to see us work on a patch, please let us know in the comments. In lieu of that, we'll be working on new features coming to you next week!
What we're working on and is coming up in the next updates.
Adding more music into the game
A new screen to manage hacker information. This will help you see nationally how a candidate is raising and spending money. What their goals are!.
A new basic finances screen to make it easier to track your expenses across the nation and make it easier to mass cancel your activities.
We've got the Infiltrator coming up! We're working on our fourth agent. He'll bring a unique ability with him to start, going into a state and getting the people riled up on an issue! He can only take 1 action per turn, but his first ability is potent! Imagine your candidate is leading on an issue, but the issue isn't super important. Yet! Suddenly your infiltrator goes in and stirs people up. Suddenly this issue shoots up in importance. Now your candidate is favoured, the issue is important, and it should have a solid fundraising impact on them and really hurt your opponent. You can use this strategy to help or hurt whoever you want. Starve their funds off or help them on the road to victory!
