addedEnvironmentStarting off with the new forest environment that you saw in our last update! We’ve already added a quick parallax to get a feel for the space, and really love how it’s looking so far. The fog between layers will likely get more polish later on, but for now, it offers a nice eerie atmosphere to the forest already. We also added some bushes around the ground - they weren’t in the original concept, but it felt a bit too desolate without them.
changedUIBig changes in the UI once again this month - we swapped out the pixel font for something more legible! For our narrative-heavy game, the pixel font just didn’t cut it. We chose something more accessible that still fits nicely with the style of the UI.
changedUIWe also updated the looks of our dialogue UI which you can see in the image below! The vertical layout solves a lot of our space issues and allows us to easily display previous dialogue.
addedAll new IdaOur local scientist Ida was the first to receive a full character makeover. Because we changed the UI’s pixel density, we now have a lot of free real estate for the portraits - Ida’s no-nonsense attitude is almost palpable now.

Environment

Starting off with the new forest environment that you saw in our last update!

UI

Big changes in the UI once again this month - we swapped out the pixel font for something more legible! For our narrative-heavy game, the pixel font just didn’t cut it. We chose something more accessible that still fits nicely with the style of the UI.

We also updated the looks of our dialogue UI which you can see in the image below! The vertical layout solves a lot of our space issues and allows us to easily display previous dialogue.

All new Ida

Our local scientist Ida was the first to receive a full character makeover. Because we changed the UI’s pixel density, we now have a lot of free real estate for the portraits - Ida’s no-nonsense attitude is almost palpable now.

And that’s already it for this month's update ✨ As always let us know what you think - any feedback is welcome!
