addedOne of the things that is important to us as a studio is the sense of discovery. That during your adventure, there are new things to uncover. We try to embed this ideal into every aspect of the game, with more things to learn about your companions, skills to master and new places to explore.
changedThe Corrosion is dangerous. Most will avoid it. But as a Soul Whisperer, Eline travels between cities, offering comfort to those needing it. It also becomes necessary for Eline, Ysoris, & Kanta to traverse these corrupted vistas and battle against some of the horrors within.
addedThere’s a certain melancholy in returning to these areas. The landmarks you used as navigation markers left almost unrecognisable. Returning to these areas, you’ll also find that the corrupted areas have opened new paths or that by eradicating certain elements, you’ll be able to progress further.
addedHaving the world evolve and change alongside you during the adventure. It fuels the sense of discovery, finding something new in the places you’ve explored before. It also highlights the encroaching threat, emphasising the importance of Eline’s Journey (woah, that’s the name of Eline’s theme song, check it out here 😉).

But in a world ravaged by the Corrosion, an unstoppable disease spreading across the continents, warping creatures and the land itself, this presented an interesting idea for us as a studio. What does it mean to go back to parts of the world that are being twisted by the Corrosion?

As time passes and you progress through the story, the Corrosion continues its advance across Avaris. This corrupting influence twists and warps the landscape, fauna, and flora. It’s the inevitable end for all things. It has also forced the nomadic people of Avaris into a sedentary lifestyle, taking root in parts still unclaimed by the Corrosion.
