addedWe also created an entirely new combat system, looking to challenge ourselves as developers to create a combat system that relies on perfect dodges and chaining combos. The demo was the perfect moment to show off what we've been working on.
changedIt is also, a good chance for us to reflect on what still needs to be done in the final months before launch. There's been a lot of feedback, some of these are quality of life features that we'd like to look into a little more (things like subtitles, motion blur, etc.) or small bugs (like the sand texture issue), but there are others that we'd like to address.
changedCombat Feel A lot of this relates to how enemies react to combat, as well as the balancing between enemy HP bars and the damage that Eline is doing. There's definitely a spike when doing combos, but we want to do another pass on this (particularly the crab enemies).
changedCutscene Lip Sync We know that some of the cutscenes still lack lip movements for the characters. This is a side effect of slowly expanding the scope during development. Originally, these were portrait conversations ( which we still do use in parts of the game - see below ) that we expanded the scope of and turned into in-game cutscenes. The animations for some of these aren't finalised, which is why you in the demo build, Eline and Ysoris are doing their best ventriloquist impressions.
changedPerformance Issues We're currently working on the console versions of Edge of Memories. As part of this, the demo build isn't perfectly optimised. We've still got work to do on this front, and are working for a more stable launch.
changedSo what's next?Steam Next Fest is over, but the Edge of Memories demo will still be available until June 30th . After that, you won't be able to play, even if you've previously downloaded the game.

Steam post imageHello everyone!
Thank you all for making time to check out Edge of Memories, download our demo and take your first steps into Avaris.
For those who managed to play the demo, we hope that you could feel our progression as a studio. Edge of Memories is a follow up to our previous project, Edge of Eternity, but we switched engines, moving from Unity to Unreal, and overhauling the visual style (including redesigning some returning characters).
We also created an entirely new combat system, looking to challenge ourselves as developers to create a combat system that relies on perfect dodges and chaining combos. The demo was the perfect moment to show off what we've been working on.

So what's next?
Steam Next Fest is over, but the Edge of Memories demo will still be available until June 30th. After that, you won't be able to play, even if you've previously downloaded the game.
As we previously noted, there are a few bugs and issues that we're aware exist within this build, and we're working to make improvements based on your feedback. Whether in our Steam community or our developer Discord, we're really grateful for everything you have to say.
Edge of Memories is planned for release later this year. We'll let you know when we have a firm release date, but if you want to support our team, dropping a wishlist goes a long way. Thank you, and see you next time!
