Hi adventurers,
No big update to finish the year, but instead I've been busy lately improving many different aspects of the game, so let me introduce you to the Quality of Life Updates!
Here are the main areas I've worked on:
- ChestsI've added quite a few different chest types since the last update, you can store food, potions (and directly equip or consume from the chest), herbs, runes and crafting materials. I also fixed a few issues with them and added some features like the ability to filter what you want to store per chest.
- UI & UXyou can finally reorder your heroes! And I also fixed how the escape key behaves, it will finally close the current action/menu instead of always opening the pause menu.
Weapons and armors can be destroyed to retrieve runes! So now, you should be able to get rid of all objects by selling them with the trading boat or destroying them for weapons and armors. You're not stuck forever with objects you can't get rid of.
I also tried to improve various other things, like adding some new traits, adding a harvest area to be more consistent with cut plants areas, replacing placeholder models, adding a heat insulation factor to walls, etc...
Finally I worked a bit on optimizations, so don't hesitate to let me know if you're getting better performances or not!
Here's the complete changelog:
Improved units reaction times when working
Updated ballista arrow and catapult stone quantity per craft
Raids won't attack walls anymore if other targets are available, they'll also prioritize gates or doors over simple walls
Number of units needed for an expedition is now dependent of the expedition trading value
Improved the Feedback menu
Added a notification message when a resource can't be delivered to its destination
Integrated a raw food shelf and a cooked food shelf
Kitchen can now only be built indoor
Improved Escap key management, it will now close menus or cancel current action before opening the pause menu.
Added an herborist chest for herbs and mushrooms and a potions shelf
Added the ability to cancel the direction selection in combat
Added the ability to forbid some resource types in chests
Improved skills menu readability
Balancing on some resources stack sizes
Added the ability to destroy weapons or armors with chances to retrieve runes from it (chances are based on the weapon/armor craft skill value)
Added the ability to reorder heroes (right click on their portrait)
Added the ability to set a priority on refill jobs
Added tooltips with job stats descriptions
Added traits modifying the initial inventory size for heroes
Added traits influencing the HP retrieved from health potions
Added a harvest areas and removed the auto harvest button (on existing saves, harvest areas will be automatically created when auto harvest was enabled on a plant)
Added chests for looted materials and runes
Integrated new statues and fountains models
Walls now have a heat insulation factor
Balanced mood values caused by cold
Improved fortress walls corner management
Blueprints can now be destroyed
Various optimizations
Fixed weapons trails not being displayed
Fixed a potential crash with chests when saving
Fixed an issue with gold chest quantity not properly updated when using gold to recruit new heroes (for existing saves, you'll need to rebuild or move the chest to fix the displayed quantity)
Fixed an issue with units stopping to work because resources are impossible to deliver to their destination
Fixed an issue preventing to open the expedition board
Fixed an issue with the season time marker not being properly scaled
Fixed an issue causing chests to be ignored if a save is done while they're empty
Fixed an issue with plants not properly detected as destroyed during the winter
Fixed an issue allowing to use armor runes as combat active abilities
Fixed a potential crash when saving from a new game after loading a previous game with groups set.
Fixed a potential crash when loading a game.
Fixed an issue preventing heroes to rearm some siege weapons.
Fixed an issue with combat traps being activated on allies if starting the turn on them
Fixed the issue with dungeon loot spawning under the dungeon and not being accessible by heroes without reloading a game
Fixed an issue with logs potentially blocking the UI
Fixed a potential crash when trying to build on top of another construction
Fixed a crash in combat when a taunted opponent has no possibility to approach the target
Fixed a potential crash when moving a chest
Fixed a potential crash when recruiting a new hero
In the process, I also added a few bugs and instabilities, I'm really sorry for that! But thanks to your continuous feedback I think it's quite stable and usable now. Don't hesitate to report anything you may still encounter and I should be able to fix it in the coming days.
I'll then take a break for the holidays, and I should be back next year with new content updates! Hopefully in the meantime I hope you'll enjoy the game, and please be sure to leave a review, it really helps a lot and it can make a big difference if I manage to reach 100 of them!
