Developer Notes
This update focuses on UI clarity, combat mechanics, and overall stability. At the same time, we’re continuing to expand the narrative side of Dying Breed — actively developing the game’s lore and working on new cinematic sequences for the most recently added missions.
Fixes
• Music player overlay – The audio icon on the music player no longer overlaps the currently playing song title. • Naval attack behavior – Resolved issues preventing units and buildings from correctly attacking naval targets. • Shipyard crater – Fixed incorrect crater effects appearing on water surfaces when the shipyard is destroyed. • Stability – Various savegame, stability, and edge-case issues have been addressed. • Tank force-attack rotation – Tanks and their turrets now rotate correctly when using force-attack commands. • Water transport mounting – Fixed incorrect mounting behavior affecting Water Worm units. • Default keybindings – Several default keybindings have been corrected and refined.
UI & Gameplay Improvements
• Objective box shadow – Updated the objective panel visuals to improve readability and contrast. • Wall sorting layers – Improved layer ordering to prevent units from clipping through walls. • Load/Save menu – Updated the load and save game menu for better clarity and usability. • Steam Deck resolution support – Added support for 1280×800 resolution. • Savegame versioning – Savegames now store and display the game version to warn about potential compatibility issues.
Map Changes
• WWA 11.1 – Enemy spawn trigger – Fixed an issue where enemy reinforcement spawns continued indefinitely after capturing key bases. The spawn trigger now correctly stops once the building is captured. • Various minor map changes – Improved overall playability and flow, refined mission descriptions, and enhanced visual coherence across several maps.
As always, thank you for your feedback. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions, feel free to share them on the Steam forums or Discord — we’re listening.
