Hey folks,

The Playtest has officially ended today! We thank everyone for participating in our Playtest. We have received a lot of really valuable feedback from you all, and we will definitely use it to further improve Dusky Depths.

Your Feedback

Based on the feedback we have received so far, the most important issues you have raised are:

The in-game user interface is cluttered

The in-game UI shows a lot of information at once, which can be overwhelming. To remedy this issue, we will introduce several configuration options with which the player can customize their UI. By default, we will try to minimize the amount of UI elements shown to the player.

The current HUD. You'll be able to customize many parts of it soon!

Which objects in the world are interactable?

Right now, it's not 100% clear which objects can be interacted with by the player by sight alone. We will try to make it more clear by introducing a consistent design element to all interactables. That way, it should be clear at first glance whether something is interactable or not.

The functionality of some objects is not clear based on visuals alone

Some objects have a somewhat arbitrary design, to the point where it is not clear what they are supposed to be unless you are close enough to them so that a tooltip appears. Those objects will receive new designs.

Can you guess what this is? Correct, an object that will be redesigned!

We're still open for feedback!

If you haven't sent us your feedback yet, but still wish to do so, then you are more than welcome to contact us! Join us on our Discord server, comment on this article or send us a DM on our social media! We're always open for any kind of feedback.

What's next?

We are currently preparing a Demo for the upcoming Steam Nextfest in February! Press the Follow button on our Steam store page or follow us on Twitter if you want to get notified when it's ready! We will also announce it on our Discord server, of course!

In addition to that, we will also be holding another Playtest, but this time to test the multiplayer mode! We will have more to announce about it in the next few months!
