The early version of the Drug Lord Tycoon overhaul is now available.

This update is a major rebuild of the game’s core systems. It introduces a new foundation for production, progression, and future content. While it doesn’t yet include everything planned, it represents the direction the game is moving in from here on.

What happens to the old version of the game?

Some of you may still wish to play your saves on the old version of the game, and therefore we are keeping this version in a legacy branch of the game.

To play it: Right click the game in your steam library, click on Properties...>Betas> and select the beta participation called "Legacy"

What This Version Is (and Isn’t)

This is an early version, not the final overhaul. You should expect:

  • Bugs and rough edges

  • Incomplete systems

  • Ongoing balance and tuning changes

We’re releasing it now because keeping an overhaul of this size internal slows development. Real player feedback and real usage data are critical at this stage.

Progression Is Currently Limited

You won’t be able to progress as far as in the legacy version yet. We rebuilt the fundamentals first and intentionally postponed late-game content until the new systems were stable.

Even with shorter progression, the moment-to-moment gameplay, environment interaction, and production flow are already stronger than before, which is why we believe this release is fair.

This Is the Foundation Going Forward

The overhaul is the base for everything coming next, including:

  • Additional drug types (Mushrooms, Meth, LSD, Cocaine)

  • The remaining distributors

  • Expanded production chains

  • More locations and scalable setups

We Want Your Feedback

There is a dedicated feedback button in-game. If you run into issues, have suggestions, or want to influence how the overhaul evolves, this is the best way to do it. Expect frequent updates as we iterate.
