This update greatly expands Out of Fuel encounters, transforming a brief setback into one of the most dangerous moments in a run.

New Out of Fuel Scenarios
This update adds 7 new Out of Fuel scenarios, each with distinct structure and consequences:
Captured by Slavers
Rebel Outpost
Abandoned Core
Abandoned Refinery Pump Operation
Broken-Down Civilian Cruiser
Pirate Boarding (Small Ship)
Pirate Boarding (Medium Ship)
These scenarios throw you into high-risk situations: holding a refinery long enough to extract fuel, arriving at a friendly rebel installation that feels safe until you are followed and attacked, or being boarded, captured, and forced to fight your way out of a slave ship.
In some scenarios, survival comes with a moral cost. Will you turn pirate in order to survive?
Systemic Foundations
A large part of this update focuses on laying groundwork for future Out of Fuel events. A significant amount of reusable logic now sits behind Out of Fuel events, making it much easier to build and add new scenarios in future updates.
This game now supports:
Prisoner states, including being stripped of gear, breaking out of cells, hacking systems, and using your gravity hand to escape
Environmental scavenging, such as finding fuel and resources inside hostile or compromised locations
Hold-and-survive scenarios, where you must keep control of a location long enough for fuel extraction or delivery
Ambush logic, allowing encounters to appear safe before escalating into combat
Exchanges, where supposedly friendly interactions can shift depending on timing, positioning, or player choice
Boarding actions, enabling enemies to invade your space rather than always meeting you head-on
Several future Out of Fuel scenarios are already planned that build on these systems.
Patch Notes
Added 7 new Out Of Fuel encounters
Added a Fuel Counter to the main gameplay UI so fuel state is always visible
Breach Tips Cybernetic (destroy walls with a knife) now works correctly
Fixed an issue where airlock doors could be opened after shuttle departure, allowing players to look into open space
Loading screen simplified to be more subtle
Added loading screens for Out of Fuel events and boss encounters, preventing the Star Map from appearing to hang
Skugs (Boss 2) now takes half damage while throwing barrels. Previously Skugs could only be damaged during jump attacks, which was not clearly signposted and caused frustration.
Bolt Sniper Rifle damage increased to better compensate for its handling quirk
