Dorfromantik changes
Big news, everyone! We’ve just launched the Steam page for our Medieval Biome Pack!
It’s finally happening: you can now wishlist the Dorfromantik Medieval Biome Pack and follow along as we get closer to release:
The Dorfromantik Medieval Biome Pack is coming to you on June 2, 2026.
Are you ready to step into the Middle Ages?
FAQ: Medieval Biome Pack
You may have already spotted a few behind-the-scenes glimpses on our social channels. So let's gather everything in one place and answer your most burning questions!
Q: Which biomes will be included in the Medieval Biome Pack?
A: The Medieval Biome Pack includes three seasonal biomes: a summer biome, an autumn biome, and a winter biome.
Your medieval villages will move through the seasons, with lush green meadows, colorful forests, and snow-covered rooftops awaiting you.

Q: Will there be town walls, fortifications or new tiles?
A: The Medieval Biome Pack is a purely cosmetic DLC. Adding town walls would have meant introducing a new gameplay mechanic, which is something we consciously decided not to do as part of this Biome Pack.
Visually, however, there is still plenty to look forward to: the Forest Ruin will be rebuilt into a Castle, and the Water Train Station will transform into an impressive Water Fortress, complete with thick walls and portcullises.

Q: How much will the Medieval Biome Pack cost?
A: Pricing is always one of the very last steps in our development process. We currently expect to make the final pricing decision just in time for June 2. If we reach a decision sooner, we will update the Steam page accordingly.
Q: Will there be new Music in the Biome Pack?
A: Yes! The Medieval Biome Pack will include two brand-new tracks that blend seamlessly into your existing relaxed Dorfromantik rotation yet carry an unmistakable medieval vibe.
Q: What happens to the Locomotive in the medieval setting?
A: The Dorfromantik Locomotive transforms into a Coach.
For its appearance, we took inspiration from the minimalist, toy-like look of the existing game. The horses are inspired by hand-carved wooden chess knights and automata.

Q: What happens to the Steamboat in the medieval setting?
A: The Dorfromantik Steamboat transforms into a Sailing Ship.
We drew inspiration from medieval trading cogs. Wind power instead of an engine!
Q: You also announced an Anniversary Update including Night Mode. Can I play Night Mode without owning the Medieval Biome Pack?
A: Absolutely.
The Anniversary Update is separate from the Medieval Biome Pack and will be free for all Dorfromantik players. We currently plan to release both (Medieval Biome Pack + Anniversary Update) around the same time.

Q: What about the mobile version of Dorfromantik?
A: We’re still developing it in parallel. And wow, what an exciting ride it has been!
Over the past few weeks, we finalized the tutorial, optimized the in-game menus, and included some particularly challenging achievements. We are cookin'! But for the next few weeks, there's a strong focus on the Medieval Biome Pack.
Our indie team has put a lot of care into making the Medieval Biome Pack live up to the wishes and ideas we’ve heard from the community. And we truly believe we’ve created a lovely, well-rounded package.
If you have any more questions, feel free to leave them below this article. We’ll be reading along and will gladly answer everything we already have an answer for.
Thank you so much for your excitement and support. And don’t forget to wishlist the Medieval Biome Pack here on Steam to stay updated! ☺️
