If you are reading this then you’ve found your way to our Steam page and may have some interest in our little project, or maybe you wound up here by the sheer randomness of life.
Either way, you are awesome and welcomed!
Originally announced in 2020, Don’t Stare is currently in development and we hope to release it soon. With this first update, and more to follow, our aim is to chronicle our dev-adventures in the quest to bring this title to the masses.
Without further ado, here’s what we have been up to!
We had the opportunity to run a playtest or two in the last 2 years, and the feedback we collected was invaluable! Following that process, we are currently working on a FTUE tutorial to help future users get started in the game and learn the ropes.
Don’t Stare is not the most complicated game out there, but we know how important it is to make our game accessible to all players.
On the art front, our team has been busy creating more assets than ever before. We have added new levels with themes such as a coffee shop, grocery store and subway.
We've also introduced new characters, including the Bois, Mom and Dad with the baby, and the Old Man.
The main character's friends are now also in the game, and we can’t wait for you to meet them!
Moving onto gameplay, we've polished and added new extrovert models, as well as fixed some bugs in the progressing story and checkpoints. We've also made some improvements in the main character's movements to make the parkour really jump off the screen.
When it comes to UI and UX, we've implemented new menus and polished access to missions and chats, as well as fixed some UI navigation bugs. We've added more features such as character customization and an in-game music player, so you can explore all of the game's music.
Speaking of music, our Sound Designer and Music composer has produced more than an hour of original music for the game! We have music for specific parts of the story, as well as for special levels, different scenarios, and for the main character's personal development.
We've also added sound-effects for almost everything in the game, including characters, UI, and gameplay feedback.
Make sure to follow our social media channels where we will be premiering some of the new tracks added soon!
If you're as excited as we are about the game, please share this dev update and don't forget to wishlist the game on Steam so you can be notified when the game will be released.
Thank you for your support, and we can't wait for you to step into the shoes and of our Introvert Main Character to and achieve anti-social greatness!
