QUALITY OF LIFE & IMPROVEMENTS
Gameplay
The Diving deck’s manning effect was changed to grant specific stat bonuses during your dive depending on the chosen diving spot.
You can now find dead diver corpses by default (it no longer requires manning the Diving deck).
UI
Added a sidebar on the hub while in menus, letting you navigate through menus without closing them. Controller inputs were adjusted on some menus to accommodate this.
Added a stat breakdown tooltip when hovering your stats so you can see the base value for the state and compare it to new recruits (Mouse & Keyboard only).
Added a weather indicator on the Diving deck when a special event is active.
Added fitness attribute and input icons to the manning panel.4
Camp report keywords can now be hovered for extra tooltips (Mouse & Keyboard only).
Added equipment stat value information in some descriptions where it was missing.
Other minor UI polish and adjustments.
Art
Added 4 new survivor portraits.
Added a proper icon to indicate dead divers.
Settings
Added a “Mouse steering” setting that changes diver controls so that the diver always moves toward the cursor. This disables all directional inputs other than “up” (W) which moves the diver forward. This only works when using mouse & keyboard and is disabled on Steam deck.
Tutorials
Added a new tutorial tooltip for manning that triggers when you first assign a survivor to manning.
The manning panel now shows with a disclaimer before the feature is unlocked (instead of being fully hidden).
Balancing
The Library’s manning effect now grants a little bit of XP to idle survivors too.
Changed the fitness attribute for the Fishing hut from Sanity to Health.
Nerfed the Library’s fitness effect. 1-2 heal/level > 0.5-1 heal/level.
FIXES
Saves
Fixed a bug that could prevent demo saves from being reloaded due to not properly initializing the .dm demo check file. Saves that were already in this state prior to the fix’s deployment will still not work in the demo version, but will be able to be reloaded in the full game no matter what.
Fixed a bug that caused previously created new saves to influence other new saves if the game wasn’t closed between their creation. For example, this caused diver stats to increase on the second save.
Inputs
Fixed some edge cases where the game could fail to detect controllers.
Fixed a bug that caused inputs to become disabled after cancelling input rebinding in the settings.
Fixed an occasional input-related performance drop.
Fixed a minor menu controller input edge cases.
Gameplay
Fixed cases where the Obsessive trait would cause weight to display above your current maximum.
Fixed obsessive weight calculation.
Fixed a bug that prevented items from being recovered by the survivor manning the Fishing hut after sacrificing a diver to an altar.
