DIVE or DIE - Children of Rain changes
The second patch for the demo (1.0.1.741) is here! This update contains minor improvements, mainly concerning balancing, onboarding, UI, and a few fixes.
MINOR IMPROVEMENTS
General
The game now saves when quitting through the pause menu.
The game now saves after you perform an offering at the Altar.
Onboarding
The Needle gun is now equipped automatically when first crafted and on new recruits.
Added a notification the first time you approach a Killer algae while having the Diving knife.
Added a notification when attempting to use the Needle gun with no ammo equipped.
Polished the “Take aim before shooting” Needle gun notification so it’s harder to miss.
Added a notification when starting a dive during Black Rain to remind you that you’re in trouble.
Balancing
The Rain-touched now stop for a brief moment between attacking and moving toward you again. Blessed Rain-touched stop for a shorter time.
Changed the placement of a few Rain-touched.
The first Killer algae tendril you destroy is guaranteed to drop Algae tissue (the first of the entire save, not the first of the current dive).
The base Oxygen tank (the one you start with) now grants +20 oxygen so early dives are slightly longer. For reference, Joe Saltman goes from 120 to 140.
Buffed health/sanity restoration values for Healing balm (10 > 15), Anxiolytics (10 > 15) and Rain panacea (20 > 25).
Graphics
Added new event illustrations for a couple events.
Polished the exterior of the shipwreck.
UI
Cure condition treatments now display even when the Infirmary is unmanned and display a notification if you click them while it is unmanned.
Cure condition treatments now display first in the Infirmary.
Added a confirmation popup when you’re about to make an occupation change that will cause a survivor to become Fatigued.
The Diving inventory can now be closed with ESC.
Relevant “Passion” traits now display on survivor cards when you’re assigning manning survivors.
Changed a few input icons so they’re easier to read.
Audio
Hitting large enemies now plays a sound to indicate that you’re not damaging them.
Steam Deck
Adjusted text size in a few interfaces where it was a bit small.
Accessibility
Added an “Always show cursor” setting that lets you have the cursor active during dives.
FIXES
Gameplay
Fixed possible soft-lock states if you exited from dive to main menu at specific times (while being grabbed by the Eldritch spider, for example).
Fixed damage from the Hemorrhage condition closing popups when ticking during a dive.
Fixed the Adaptive trait not preventing Fatigue when triggering a dive with New occupation.
Fixed the ability to trigger Skip day behind the “demo end” popup on the controller.
UI
Fixed the state of Workshop crafting slots not updating after crafting something.
Fixed Lighthouse recruits not having a visible scrollbar and not being scrollable on the controller.
Fixed a bug that caused interaction widgets to pulse everywhere while diving, not just near the surface.
Fixed minor UI glitches.
Graphics
Fixed multiple decorative asset layer issues.
Fixed camp smoke particles sometimes disappearing a bit suddenly.
