changedGreat news! - Because of the fact that we are participating in Eastern Martial Artists Week event and because we haven't updated for some time ("some time" here meaning almost a year...) we've decided that it's a great time to update the demo!
addedRhythm improvementsRhythm is fundamental to our game... and It worked kinda meh before. So now we made a lot of improvements and fixes, including fixing audio-video synchronization issues and enchancing UI/UX - you can now see more things that react to the rhythm. But the most important change, I think, is sound effects scheduling - it means that even if you perform action slightly to early the game will wait until it's the right time and it will play the sound effect on the beat! it really helps you to stay in the rhythm.
addedRhythm improvementsAnd we've also added a calibration screen - most of the time the game should work without calibration, but you might need to use it if you feel some delay (for example when playing on TV).
addedKeychains (Perks)You can now customize your playstyle! You do that by wearing keychains which provide you small bonuses - but before you can equip them you need to earn them. Each keychain has a challenge you need to complete in order to unlock that keychain.
addedPolishingDestructible environments - you can now destroy small parts of the environment - like chairs or glasses - It doesn't have any tactical meaning, It's just for fun.
addedCustom musicAnd you can now use custom music in the game! However, you must first complete the level before you can play it with custom music. Please bear in mind, though, that the UI for custom music is still a work in progress.

So - what's new?

New levels

Demo now features entire chapter 1 (out of 7 in full game). It now also includes 2 story levels where you can learn a little bit more about real-world life of the Fox. And on top of that you will also have an opportunity to take part in a motorcycle chase!

Rhythm improvements

Rhythm is fundamental to our game... and It worked kinda meh before.

And we've also added a calibration screen - most of the time the game should work without calibration, but you might need to use it if you feel some delay (for example when playing on TV).

Keychains (Perks)

You can now customize your playstyle! You do that by wearing keychains which provide you small bonuses - but before you can equip them you need to earn them. Each keychain has a challenge you need to complete in order to unlock that keychain.

Polishing

There was a trillion changes in that department so I'll just share the most fun ones:

  • Destructible environments - you can now destroy small parts of the environment - like chairs or glasses - It doesn't have any tactical meaning, It's just for fun.

  • Rhythmic environment - parts of the level now just move to the rhythm! Hopefully that also helps you keep up with the beat.

  • Enemies leave blood splatters - It makes the world feel just a little bit more interactive (and brutal).

Custom music

And you can now use custom music in the game! However, you must first complete the level before you can play it with custom music. Please bear in mind, though, that the UI for custom music is still a work in progress.

One final note - the demo now has a separate store page - which means you can leave a review!

And that would be it for today - I hope you will try out the demo!
