Hey, Kohan here - the programmer behind Disco Samurai,
What changed
- Balance
- UI and audio
- Gameplay
- Fixes
Today I wanted to share with you some of the changes we made to the demo based on the feedback we received from you during Steam Next Fest.
Those changes include:
Difficulty balance
Rebalanced levels - we're making them a bit easier
Enemies now have shorter attack range, allowing you to dash away if you're under pressure
Enemies now show an indicator one beat before they start their attack sequence
Enemies now attack more sparingly, allowing you to take more initiative between their combos
Success window is now larger - so if you've got trouble keeping up with the rhythm it should help
Both powers - kick and shooting - now cost the same amount of flow to keep flow management simpler
Added "Restart level" button
Added video tutorials in place of images
Temporarily disabled calibration - currently it caused more problems than it resolved, but it will definitely be back for release
If you've played previous demo version your progress will be reset
Bug fixes and other small changes
And while these changes in a large part make the game easier, please keep in mind that we still want our game to be challenging, but we definitely don't want it to be frustrating.
