Week 43 - Banners and Boards

We’re going to try something new — a Weekly Dev Digest (well… most weeks 😉). These short updates will give you a peek behind the scenes at what we’ve been building, fixing, and planning for Disc Golf City.

You’ll get highlights of new features, work-in-progress improvements, and little insights into how the game is evolving — straight from the developers.

We know many of you love hearing what’s going on under the hood, and this is our way of keeping the community in the loop without waiting for major announcements.

In Game Promotional Boards

This week we have been working on in game promotional boards. Now, as we've said before we are firmly committed to having NO ADVERTS ever. And when we say that, hopefully you know exactly what we mean. We're talking about the annoying pauses in a game that are so common in mobile games. Or worse still the things you have to fight with every time you complete a level, etc. We are firmly against those.

But in the game, just like a real city, we have always had a number of boards, banners, hoardings, etc. And until now we've just had made up fake posters on them. But now we've opened them up for dynamic use.

So are you a fellow indie game developer, struggling to get the word out about your game (and committed to the same cozy, "no war, no violence, no evil" ethos that we have)? If so then get in touch, and we can add your game art to the set of rolling images.

Or do you have a product that contributes to the sport, maybe you make funky disc designs, etc. If so, get in touch and we can add your images too.

We're NOT charging for this. And we reserve the right to only use images that are sympathetic to our game environment.
