A massive under-the-hood update is rolling out. We have officially migrated the entire Direct Contact architecture to Unreal Engine 5.7.4!
This was a highly calculated, performance-first overhaul focused entirely on maximum stability, high frame rates, and refining our core tactical gameplay.
🔥 Quick Patch Highlights:
Engine Upgrade: Migrated to UE 5.7.4 utilizing the rock-solid Classic Material Model to guarantee maximum FPS during heavy firefights. For now.
Optimized Visuals: Native Streaming Virtual Textures (SVT) actively streaming at a highly efficient 2K resolution to free up VRAM, paired with Lumen GI and TSR 4.0.
Gameplay QoL: Smoother running animations, the ability to run during animation montages, if check dead body and a rebalanced tactical movement speed (base velocity bumped to 400), and a reliable double-tap reload fix.
Performance: Massive improvements to the FPS, specifically keeping the dense Darién Gap jungle running incredibly smooth.
