diffiCULT changes
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who played the demo.
Since the demo went live, a total of 255 games have been played. That honestly means a lot to us. We also received a lot of helpful feedback, bug reports, and suggestions from players, and we’ve been going through all of them carefully.
We want to be as transparent as possible about what we’ve been working on.
One of the biggest issues in the demo was related to voice chat. After investigating the problems, we realized that many of the voice issues were coming from the Vivox voice system we were using. Because of that, we decided to move away from Vivox and switch to a different solution. Voice communication is a huge part of diffiCULT, so we want it to feel stable, clear, and reliable.
We also had some network related issues during the demo. These caused problems in certain matches, and we know how frustrating that can be in a game like this. We’ve worked on these problems and fixed the major network issues we saw during the demo.
Another thing we noticed was that some players had a hard time understanding the game at first. Social deduction games already have a learning curve, and diffiCULT adds a more active first person structure on top of that.
Because of this, we’re currently integrating tutorial elements into the game. Our goal is to make the game easier to understand without slowing down the experience or hurting the flow of gameplay.
We also made some changes to the main menu design. UI and UX are still areas we’re actively improving, and we’re trying to make everything feel cleaner and easier to navigate.
For streamers and content creators, we added a small but important feature: Hide Lobby Code.
Previously, the lobby code was visible at the top of the screen, which could cause unwanted players joining during livestreams. Now players can hide the lobby code whenever they want.
We’re also continuing to improve the game visually. Some of the environment assets are being updated, and we’re working on making the world feel more polished and more fitting for the atmosphere we want diffiCULT to have.
Here’s a quick summary of what changed:
Removed Vivox and switched away from the old voice system • Fixed major network issues from the demo • Updated the main menu design • Started integrating tutorials for new players • Added Hide Lobby Code for streamers • Continued improving and replacing environment assets
Again, thank you to everyone who played the demo and shared feedback with us.
We’re a small team, and every comment genuinely helps us make diffiCULT better.
We’ll keep listening, fixing, and improving the game step by step.
See you in the next update ❤️
