Die in the Dungeon changes
We’re back just before the holidays with a closer look at what’s been cooking in the backrooms of the dungeon (are they real?). From returning mechanics to brand-new enemies, here’s a preview of some of the content coming in the next updates!
🎲 Dice-Rolling Events are Back!
Those of you who played DITD: Origins back in the day might remember a particularly unique mechanic: dice rolling in events. In these events, players used their own dice to decide the fate of a chosen option. Only those who rolled high enough earned their reward. After working on a new batch of events, we decided it was time to bring it back to raise the stakes of your choices once again!
We’ve tweaked the system to make it feel fairer and more streamlined, but we’ll save the full breakdown for a dedicated post. For now, here’s a sneak peek at one of the new events making their way into the dungeon. Expect plenty of new effects, and be prepared for them to shake up your runs considerably!
Intriguing, right? What do you think that machine is used for? Leave your best guess in the comments below! ⬇️
💃 An Elite with Killer Moves!
The Ciolinist, waiting patiently to copy your dice every turn, is one of the most unique enemies in the Buried City. Building on that idea, a new elite enemy is coming to the game: Cicandela, also known as the Elite Ciolinist!
This fiery dancer still reacts to the dice on your board, but does so in its own, far more dangerous way. We’ll dedicate a future post to explaining its behavior, along with other upcoming elites designed to expand the enemy pool.
🧼 New relics, new properties and much more!
New events mean new rewards! Alongside them, we’ve added new dice properties, new relics, and a few extra surprises waiting to be discovered.
Most of these new events focus on Areas 2 and 3, helping diversify mid and late-game runs and reducing repeated events. Older events are also getting some love: rebalanced rewards, additional options and even dice-rolling mechanics added to a few of them!
Our goal is for every run to feel distinct, and meaningful decisions are a key part of that. We’re excited to hear your feedback once the next update is live!

That's all we can show for now, but there’s much more in the works, and we can't wait to make to share it with you. Until then, we hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your loves ones (frogs included!) 💚
Thank you for playing!
