The second Frog Reporter devblog is finally here! 🎤🐸

This time, the Frog Reporter goes over the biggest updates since the last video and shares a few sneak peeks of what's coming to the game. Watch it here:

And for those of you who prefer reading, here’s a condensed recap of the video:

🛠️ LATEST FEATURES

  • Title Cards. Each new area now has its own illustrated title card to make every step of the journey feel more special.

  • Endless Mode. A new game mode where you start from Floor 1 and see how far you can go. You can jump into Endless right away or continue a strong run into it, similar to the Origins/CLASSIC experience.

  • Multi-type Dice. New dice that combine two different types in one, opening up some very silly (and very strong) combos.

  • Elite Enemies. Special encounters with tougher versions of familiar foes that change the pace of runs and test your builds.

  • Run History. A new menu where you can review past runs, including dice, relics, and stats. Perfect for sharing busted builds and high scores.

  • Battle UI Refresh. A cleaner battle interface that makes it easier to read player/enemy status and plan your turns.

  • Bestiary. A new Codex section where you can check detailed information and lore for every enemy in the game.

  • Controller Support. You can now play the whole game comfortably with a controller.

👀 SNEAK PEEKS

  • New Events! Events will be the focus of an upcoming update. We’re adding a new dice-based mechanic and revisiting existing events to make them more impactful during runs!

  • Steam Deck verified! We’re working on improving the Steam Deck experience, including larger UI text, clearer fonts and other accessibility tweaks, to make playing on the go as smooth as possible!

  • New Elite Enemies! Beetball and Red Hood were just the beginning... New elites are coming to all areas, including a long-rumored dragonfly hoarding a suspicious amount of treasure!

  • New Character! Rumors of a teal-shaded frog are spreading through the Dungeon. Are they connected to our heroes? To "the incident"? Time (and dice) will tell.

  • True Ending, Secrets and more! Was the Mosquito Duke truly defeated? Why were the insects corrupted? What is the real purpose of Nerotin? Who is Cinder looking for in the dungeon? Do frogs know how to solve fractions?

Many of these questions will finally get explored in future updates (maybe not the fractions one...)

🗓️ UPDATED ROADMAP

We've also updated our public roadmap to reflect recently completed features and to outline clearer milestones for what’s coming to Die in the Dungeon in 2025 and 2026.
