This hotfix focuses on UI behavior, input consistency, versioning cleanup, and overall responsiveness across various screen resolutions. Thank you for your continued feedback!
Input & Menus
ESC Key Functionality: All in-game windows can now be closed by pressing ESC.
Settings Access: Pressing ESC while no windows are open now correctly triggers the options menu (Hell’s Settings).
UI Responsiveness & Scaling
- Dynamic ResizingImproved responsive UI behavior when resizing the game window or playing on lower resolutions.
Edge Protection: UI elements no longer push into or overlap each other at the screen boundaries.
- Devil’s Due ContainerApplied new scaling logic to the main container to prevent layout breaks.
Music Player (Top Right)
Proportional Scaling: The music player now scales down correctly instead of stacking or overlapping other elements.
Fixed Positioning: The player remains anchored to the top-right corner across all aspect ratios.
- Conflict ResolutionFixed an issue where the music player overlapped the Shop and Spin buttons on smaller screens.
- Window CleanupMusic player swinger toggle buttons (the three buttons at the bottom of the music player) are no longer visible when the Shop window is open. (Note: the swinger below the player is disabled until next small patch because of an annoying bug)
Layout & Overlap Fixes
- Win Patterns & SymbolsFixed a bug where left-side elements would slide behind the Devil’s Log at lower resolutions.
Button Grouping: Spin and Shop buttons are now properly grouped and scale in unison during window resizing.
Shop Window Improvements
Safe Zones: The Shop window now maintains a minimum 50px margin from the top and bottom of the screen.
Visibility Fix: This margin scales with resolution to ensure the Leave Shop button is never cut off.
- UI Bleed-throughFixed various issues where background elements were visible through the Shop UI.
Version Consistency
- Unified VersioningFixed an issue where different UI elements displayed conflicting version numbers (v0.9.5 vs v0.9.6).
Centralized Code: The game version is now handled via a single central logic point, ensuring consistency across the entire client.
- Current BuildUpdated all displays to reflect v0.9.6.1 .
Thank you for reporting these issues and helping us improve Devil’s Due. More updates are actively in development, especially another load of UI scaling fixes!
