Denshattack! changes
Hello Denshattackers!
Today we're excited to share a brand new gameplay video showing off Yoshie, the first boss you'll encounter in Denshattack!
As Emi travels across a colourful dystopian Japan in her quest to become the greatest Denshattacker of all time, she'll face off against powerful gang leaders who rule the abandoned railways. Each boss has their own unique personality, visual style, signature techniques, and even their own musical identity.
And Yoshie couldn’t be a more glamorous way to kick things off…
✨ Meet Yoshie of the Dashing Queens
Yoshie is an influencer from Fukuoka whose popularity grew so powerful that the government branded her a threat. In reality, they just fear her influence.
Inspired by Japan's gyaru subculture, Yoshie embodies confidence, glamour and individuality. Her bold fashion, striking accessories, colourful train and larger-than-life personality make her one of the most memorable characters that Emi encounters on her journey.
But don't let her bubbly personality fool you!
🤖 A Boss Fight Unlike Any Other
But how do you fight a boss when you’re a train?
In Denshattack!, trains can jump, grind, wallride and perform tricks, which kicks open the door to what’s possible. During Yoshie's battle, what starts off as a relatively normal level quickly escalates into something much bigger.
Drawing inspiration from classic magical girl anime and Sentai transformation sequences like Sailor Moon, Yoshie's train combines with her followers to form a gigantic mecha adorned with stars, bows and hearts.
To defeat it, you'll need to put everything you've learned throughout the first chapter to the test. Avoid devastating attacks, identify openings, perform quick rail changes, chain tricks together and strike back with perfectly timed grinds and ground pounds.
🎵 Introducing Yoshie's Theme
This gameplay video also marks the first reveal of Yoshie's battle theme, which is the result of a collaboration between composer Sean Bialo, acclaimed Vocaloid producer Yunosuke, and pop singer (and gyaru icon!) Alice Peralta.
The result is a vibrant, high-energy track that blends electronic beats, pop influences and infectious vocals to create the perfect soundtrack for one of the most over-the-top encounters in the game.
You can listen to the track – “Fashion Overdrive” – on all streaming platforms now.
🚅 More Bosses Ahead!
So where do you go from fighting a giant mecha? Up and beyond!
Each region of Japan is home to its own gang leader, inspired by different aspects of Japanese suburban culture, folklore and pop culture, making every boss battle feel surprising, memorable and unlike anything you've seen before. Yoshie is just the first stop.
