Since the release of the brand-new version The Snake & Horse during this year’s New Year, we’ve received a great deal of attention and feedback from players.

And today, we can finally make it official—We will be launching a brand-new DLC, Heatwave Carnival, in the middle of this year!

This update will once again be a completely free major DLC, with a total content volume close to one-third of the base game.

Heatwave Hell is the domain governed by King Dushi, one of the Ten Kings of Hell.

Legend says it lies deep beneath the ocean, under the scorched rocks of the western sea—the fiercest and most restless inferno in the underworld, where flames burn without end and even the air seems charged with scorching fury. But in the world of Demonic Mahjong, this fearsome prison of fire takes on a very different form—molten light paints the night sky, heatwaves pulse like drumbeats, and a mahjong-themed beach party bursts onto the scene!

We hope this new DLC will bring everyone a fresh and exciting new experience.

In this new version, we will be introducing:

6 brand-new characters

Nearly 40 brand-new Figurines

And one very important new gameplay mechanic

That’s right—in this version, you can even play poker with mahjong tiles!

In this new version, we will be introducing a crucial new gameplay mechanic: “Scoring.”

Unlike the traditional flow of “play tiles → wait → win → score,” the new version allows you to use Scoring during the play phase when certain conditions are met, based on specific tile patterns.

Those tiles will directly calculate multipliers and points, then immediately convert into rewards.

This means—

Scoring no longer happens only at the moment you win a hand.

For example: if you play 1 Bamboo, 2 Bamboo, 3 Bamboo, 4 Bamboo, and 5 Bamboo, then choose Scoring, those five mahjong tiles will form a Straight Flush and score according to that hand type.

This brand-new system will bring much richer and more surprising possibilities to both deckbuilding and match strategy. Whether you are a veteran player who loves digging into synergies, or someone eager to try fresh new mechanics, this DLC will offer a different kind of fun for everyone.

Of course, in addition to the new mechanic, several brand-new characters will also be making their debut in this DLC:

The first one we’d like to introduce is:

Lycoris

A soul guide under King Dushi, presiding over “desire” in the sweltering hell. Amid her revelry, everyone receives what they long for— until the price begins to be collected.

Her skills are:

Echo

Consume 15 Energy to choose up to 2 tiles from the top 30 tiles of your discard area and exchange them with tiles in your hand.

Siphon

Can score. When scoring with a Full House, Four of a Kind, Five of a Kind, Flush Full House, Flush Four of a Kind, or Flush Five of a Kind, absorb 25% of the opponent’s current score. If the opponent has no score, no Hu Slot is consumed.

And there is a whole lineup of new characters still to come, which we will reveal one by one in future updates!

At the same time, to support this new gameplay system, we have also added nearly 40 brand-new Figurines.

For example, the Figurine [Acrobat], designed to work with the Scoring system, boosts your multiplier to 666% when you complete Scoring with 6 different hand types. Another example is [The Calliope], which allows your wind tiles to provide a 150% multiplier when used for Scoring. Then there is the legendary Figurine [Jiliang], which can turn 4 random tiles in your hand into [Lucky Tiles]; when the [Good Fortune] effect is triggered, this Figurine can also grow stronger. And the [Egg] series of Figurines has gained a new member as well: [Demon Pill], which can randomly hatch one of the Four Great Fiend Beast Figurines when you achieve the [Pi] hand type.

In addition, starting with this version, we will also begin experimenting with separating DLC content from the base game, allowing players to choose whether to enable DLC content according to their own preferences.
