This update is mostly focused on early player feedback from the demo: making the workday easier to read, reducing friction when checking menus, fixing audio issues, and improving a few UI details.

Thanks a lot to everyone who has played the demo and shared feedback. It is helping a lot.

Changes

  • Added pause the workday timer when opening purchase menus or selecting a new disk.

    • The original behavior can still be enabled again from the Options menu.

  • Changed the workday progress display into a clock.

    • Minutes are now visible, making it easier to judge how much time is left in the day.

  • The end of day report now waits for a mouse click before closing.

  • Moved the Options menu to the main UI so it is easier to find.

  • Fixed a bug where the defrag sound keep playing after the disk was no longer being defragmented.

  • Fixed the same bug with defrag related messages in the lower message feed.

  • Renamed "Main Menu" to "Management".

  • Added an "Are you sure?" confirmation panel before leaving the BIOS.

  • Fixed typos and minor bugs.

Notes

The new pause option is meant to support different play styles. Some players may prefer the original version, where time keeps moving to maintain tension. Others may prefer a more background-friendly experience where they can safely read upgrades, compare disks or browse menus.

You can choose the behavior from the Options menu.

More demo updates will follow as I keep collecting feedback.
