Defense of Kyrath changes
Good people of Kyrath —
The campaign will test thee. The Folly will break thee.
The Folly is a roguelike ascent mode — twenty tiers of escalating combat, each a short, intense battle. Survive one tier, advance to the next. Fall, and begin again.
How It Works
Each Folly is a 25-node path. Twenty battle nodes. Five boon choice nodes where thou must shape thy strategy for the tiers ahead.
Escalating edicts — challenge modifiers stack at milestone tiers. What begins as a fair fight becomes a war of attrition against the rules themselves.
Boon choices — at each milestone, choose one of three permanent bonuses for the remainder of thy ascent. Economy? Raw damage? Desperate gambles?
Earned titles — progress from Novice to Legend (or Conscript to Unyielding, depending on which Folly thou art foolish enough to attempt).
Two Themed Follies
The Crucible A crucible of steel and sorcery. All manner of foe descend in relentless succession. Volcanic wasteland. Mixed combat. Twelve waves per tier. Nothing predictable.
The Siege A slow grind of iron and endurance. Heavy foes batter thy gates whilst coffers run dry. Rugged steppes. Armored columns. Relentless wave pressure. Every gold piece matters.
Each Folly has its own map, its own identity, its own title progression. Mastering one does not prepare thee for the other.
