changedQ: What is Dead Underworld?Dead Underworld is a roguelike game with an emphasis on quick and punishing turn-based encounters and exploration in a desolate world. As the player, you can recruit another adventurer you meet to form a party of two. Balancing the resources, health, and spirit of your party is crucial for success. During the game, you may lose adventurers in combat or while traveling, and a party member may leave if the spirit gets too low.
addedQ: What is Dead Underworld? In your runs, you’ll encounter a branching path, three factions to ally with, each providing unique bonuses, and enemies that react to players' aggression. Additionally, you will be able to unlock new starting characters with interesting builds or unique twists to the basic formula.
addedQ: Who is Manmachina?I’m a solo developer from Finland. Development for Dead Underworld began in the summer of 2022. I’ve been a game development hobbyist for many years. Before this project, I had focused mostly on graphics production and couldn't really program, so this has been an awesome experience so far. After completing my degree last Christmas, I decided to try my luck as a full-time indie developer, hence the New Beginnings! Hopefully, you will join me on my new journey!
addedQ: What's next?In the past month, development has focused on many graphics-related polishes. The focus is to release a new gameplay trailer in the coming weeks. After the trailer's release, there are plans for some form of public playtest, but we shall see how it will be done. The goal is also to write these short devlogs in a bi-weekly fashion, so we shall see how that goes!
