Dawn Of Defense changes
Today we are announcing our first Major Demo Update: New Heights
As the first of 4 planned major updates to our demo, this one introduces terrain height & island size as new strategical elements:
Place your towers on elevations to buff their range and other stats.
Islands have building capacities! Expand to new islands or pick the right runestones to increase the number of build plots you can fill with buildings and towers.
Discover new status effects through tower upgrades, like flaming bolts that cause damage over time.
Here are the highlights:
Height layers: Strategic spots for your towers, potential obstacles for your economy buildings. Plan carefully to profit off of powerful buffs!
New buffs & status effects: Burn & Stun enemies, and add Regeneration to your Hero & the Spiridun itself!
New Runestones and Tower Upgrades: Slowly but surely replacing some of those placeholder upgrades with more mechanically diverse effects
Build limit system: With each island being able to support only a limited number of buildings, expansion is more important than ever!

New Features:
Add elevations to the map generation
Add buffs from placing towers on elevations
Remove predefined seeds from map generation, map seeds are random now
Add new tower upgrades with new effects: damage over time, attack speed increase after each hit, etc.
- Add new effects VFXfire burning units, improved slow VFX
- Add plots systemislands have limited and upgradable amount of available plots, each building has its own plots cost
- Add new runestonesspirit tower health regeneration, available island plots increase
Add building mode UI panel displaying plots and resources cost
Add invasion indicators, playing sound during enemy invasions and showing where the invasion is happening when it’s off the screen
Add Steam integration, change game language based on the Steam language settings
Add new tutorials for the elevations and buildings plots
Changes & Fixes
Balance patch: rework island reinforcements & tower upgrades
Rework available tile indicators visuals to support heights
Rework bridges to connect directly to island edges
Rework tower and building range indicators, change their color based on faction, show effects on islands, trenches or both
Implement cooldown for the units hurt sound
Localize game logos and links based on the in-game language
Reduce main menu parallax effect
Fix units hit animation being played when affected by damage over time effect
Fix bridges refund amount scaling when demolished
Fix issue with units being able to step on cliffs
Fix issues with having the wrong mouse cursors in game
Rework and update game UI visuals
Rework game won and game lost screen visuals
Rework shrines icons to match their effects
Update shrines and runestone altars map generation settings, make them more consistent
