Hi,

Since last update I have received new feedback regarding the game. Here is a list of changes:

Boss 1

Players have said that the boss fight doesn't make it obvious what they're supposed to do. This issue popped up during development too. I tried to fix it with a cutscene but it's now clear that cutscene isn't enough. Before I get into the changes I'd like to discuss how the boss worked. Looking back at it I do admit that these changes should have been done sooner. General Foxin had a 6 second timer. This timer would tick down if the player were close enough, if they weren't he would follow them. If the timer reached 0 zero, a rocket would get fired. This led to strange situations where sometimes the player would have to sit there for 6. This must have led some players into believing that they were doing something wrong. Here are the changes:

  • General Foxin's timer has been reduced from 6 seconds to 3 seconds.

  • General Foxin's timer now goes down even if the player is far away.

  • General Foxin no longer shoots rockets if one has already been shot.

  • General Foxin's rockets follow timer has been reduced by 1 second across all difficulties.

  • The brick wall now emits subbtle particles to hopefully guide the players.

  • The brick wall now has effect for when General Foxin rams into it.

  • Fixed a bug that caused General Foxin to push you out of bounds.

  • Fixed a bug where sometimes General Foxin's rage would just abruptly stop right after starting

Experimental controller support

Some players have been disappointed with the lack of controller support. Unfortunately during most of the game's development I didn't own any controller meaning I was unable to implement controller support. Right now I only own a PS1 dualshock. Of course this controller is outdated and the driver support isn't best either. This does allow me to implement controller support half-blindly.

Right now the controller support works fully only during gameplay and not in menus! If everything has been set up correctly, here are the controls:

XBOX 360:

  • Move - left joystick

  • Camera Look - right joystick

  • Jump - X

  • Shoot Atom - Right bumper

  • Pounce - Y

  • Tail whip - A

  • Use Secret Ability - Left bumper

  • Use Ability - Left Trigger

  • Slide - A

Please keep in mind that this is still only experimental and might remain like this for a while until I get a more modern controller.

Other

  • Fixed a duplicated description for the purple star. (oops)

Until next time!
