HELLO EVERYONE!!! today i am here to announce that the second content update for Darkest Descent IS NOW AVAILABLE !!!!! FOR EVERYONE !!!!
this one is really big so strap yourselves in!! after i go over what all was added in this update i also wanna share some information about the next update oooo!! its already in the works, so dont you worry!! as always, if you find any bugs or issues, or you just wanna hang out and get caught up on the latest information on the state of the game, make sure to join our discord! new content
- Cosmeticadded a new floor, the marbled ballroomthis is where most of the content is, accessible after clearing the first floor
- Cosmeticadded 1 new classthe instrumentalist is a passion class with extremely potent buffs and healing capabilities, easily capable of keeping you and your team alive and out of danger
- Cosmeticadded brilliance runeseach class now starts with a unique and permanently bound brilliance rune
- Cosmeticadded divergent skill typedivergent skills are universal and are not affected by any attunement bonuses or penalties, meaning they are consistently strong skill options across all classes
added 15 new creatures
added 20 new skills
added 3 new runes
added 3 new status effects
added 7 new environments
added 8 new bosses
general changes
- Cosmeticsave slots have been limited to 10old saves will not be deleted, but you will be unable to create any new saves if you have 10 or more saved runs
attuned* skills have been separated into 2 categories - universal skills are now marked with a hollow star - boosted skills retain the normal star indicator
a lot of skills have been slightly tweaked, way too much to cover here sorry
armor formula has been optimized, should fix a few scaling issues with high armor values
damage numbers should account for armor changes
up to four runes can be equipped at once now, to match skills!!!
overall damage dealt by enemies has been slightly reduced, no more getting 1 shot by a buffed enigma beam sorry bout that
enemy follow-up action frequency has been slightly reduced
enemies should be a bit more forgiving in multiplayer, action scaling in multiplayer has been reduced and extra ap gain in multiplayer has been removed completely
length of most environments has been reduced slightly
enemy leveling has been tweaked to feel more in line with player leveling, enemies scale slightly slower in general now
player level cap has been removed
skill ap cost limit has been set to 30
every rewards room will now grant at least 1 skill, frequency of rewards increased
first rewards room in dusted tundra allows 2 skills to be picked
rune rooms now have 4 rune choices
many ui elements have been updated or tweaked in various ways
many visual effects have been updated
condensed and optimized settings menu
updated lots of text formatting and wording
many many MANY other smaller changes that i forgot to write down
bug fixes
dead characters should no longer stand up when leaving combat LOL
fixed various issues with the tutorial not being flagged as complete
getting stuck on certain menus should be fixed (?) further testing may be required
window controls should no longer be hidden while not in fullscreen
