If you've missed the news you can read more about it here: https://steamcommunity.com/gid/33889449/announcements/detail/1693848448225676328 I've also mentioned a Baby Mode Difficulty that will come along with the update, and I just wanted to shed more light on it.
changedWhat is Baby Mode? How does it make the game easier? While the Baby Mode is turned on and the player falls off the map or dies any other way, they'll respawn like before, but all the gems they managed to touch will remain collected. Some levels will have checkpoints as well. However if you leave the level and comeback, or reset it, you'll have to start over.
addedWhat is Baby Mode? How will the player turn Baby Mode on? There'll be a platform added in The Lobby of the game. Getting on it will switch between turning Baby Mode on and off. Additionally, there will be a notification in top right corner letting the player know that Baby Mode is on.
addedWhat is Baby Mode? Are there any downsides of using Baby Mode? Most achievements will not be available to be unlocked with Baby Mode on. All of the achievements with red icons will work with it on, as well as the achievements for finishing World I, II and III. But you'll have to play on normal difficulty to get the level specific achievements. There'll be also an achievement added for completing all 20 levels on normal difficulty, to reward those who didn't need Baby Mode to finish the game. Additionally, there'll be new unlockable content added to the game. Unlocking it will also require player to play on normal difficulty.

What is Baby Mode?

It is a difficulty level for those who generally enjoyed the concept of Dark Roll but found the overall experience too frustrating, unable to beat the early levels. It's meant for casual players who want to finish the game without breaking their keyboard / controller. I admit that Dark Roll is not an easy game. As of now only 2.5% of people who played the game have finished it. And that number speaks for itself.

How will the player turn Baby Mode on? There'll be a platform added in The Lobby of the game. Getting on it will switch between turning Baby Mode on and off. Additionally, there will be a notification in top right corner letting the player know that Baby Mode is on.

Can I finish a level in Baby Mode then continue on normal difficulty? No. The progress for Baby Mode is stored separately. However, levels unlocked on normal difficulty will also become unlocked on Baby Mode Difficulty.

Are there any downsides of using Baby Mode? Most achievements will not be available to be unlocked with Baby Mode on. All of the achievements with red icons will work with it on, as well as the achievements for finishing World I, II and III. When is Baby Mode coming to Dark Roll? Sometime in February along with Endless Roll update.
