Daemon: The Wolf, The Witch, and the Labyrinth changes
This update focuses on making combat feel better, AI behave more reliably, and the spirit realm feel more dynamic and readable.
⚔️ Combat & Transformation Feel (Major Improvements)
Your wolf ↔ werewolf transformation has been significantly improved:
Context-sensitive shifting
Out of combat → slower, more cinematic transformation
Near enemies → instant quick-shift for responsiveness
More impact
Added camera shake, enhanced sound, and post-processing effects
This should make transformations feel both cinematic AND gameplay-responsive, depending on the situation.
🧠 AI Improvements & Fixes (Major)
AI behavior across bridges and traversal has been heavily improved:
Fixed an issue where enemies could get stuck at bridge edges
Improved off-mesh traversal smoothness
Added better error handling for edge cases
Prevented AI from ghosting through bridge posts
Combat encounters should now feel more reliable and less janky, especially in traversal-heavy areas.
🌉 World Generation & Bridge Variety
The spirit realm is now more dynamic and readable:
11 unique bridge variations added
Each with distinct materials and visual identity
Subtle hints at lore and environmental influence
Improved bridge placement logic
Prevents awkward island overlap
More natural connections between areas
If you ever notice strange overlaps, feel free to send a screenshot!
⚠️ Enemy Clarity Improvements
To reduce frustrating or “unfair” moments:
Trap/snare eggs now have dim outlines for visibility
Crystal raptors:
Now capped at ~7 active eggs
Oldest eggs automatically despawn
This should make encounters feel challenging but readable, instead of chaotic.
🎥 Cutscene & Progression Fixes
Fixed rare issues where cutscenes failed to trigger on bridges
Improved reliability of progression systems tied to navigation
🎮 Camera & Options Menu Upgrades
New camera customization options:
Mouse sensitivity
Controller sensitivity
Toggle transformation camera shake
Invert camera moved into a proper Camera settings menu
(All options are now properly localized)
🌍 Localization & UI Improvements
Improved font scaling for Spanish and Russian
UI readability improvements across menus
Ability menu text now properly displays over environment
🐛 Bug Fixes & Stability
Fixed errors related to:
crystal abilities
coroutines triggering on disabled objects
Fixed terrain/navmesh errors caused by disabled maps
Attempted fix for:
camera getting stuck when killing a lunging raptor mid-air
💬 Final Notes
This update was heavily influenced by player feedback around:
Combat clarity
AI reliability
“Unfair-feeling” moments
If something still feels off, I want to see it — screenshots and clips help a ton.
