Curse of Pirates changes
Yo-ho-ho, sea devils!
It's time to set sail on a grand sea cruise, snag a couple of treasure chests, rare maps of distant islands, and cover your name in glory that echoes across the seven seas louder than a hurricane’s roar.
Sea, Monsters, and a Long Battle
Climb aboard your ship, arm it with mighty cannons, raise the sails and head into the open sea. You'll face not only salty waves but waves of dangerous enemies, each stronger than the last.
Navigate between the sea waves and enemy waves, firing all cannons — but don’t try to sail too far away. Time works against you, and the farther you go, the more enemies you'll face. Even if the first groups of sea monsters weren’t cleared out, the next ones won’t wait — they’ll come at you like pirates to a barrel of rum. Blink, and there’s nowhere left to run. What can we say? The sea doesn’t like cowards. If you want to hide in the bushes — stay ashore, landlubbers.
Monsters vary in appearance, shape, attack style, and behavior on the map. Some travel mostly in groups — like vicious parrots, seagulls, and sharks. Others roam in groups or solo, like enemy ships. Stay sharp, or you’ll catch a cannonball to the side!
At the end of wave 13, a miniboss appears — a powerful enemy that’ll make you sweat to take down.
And of course, a rare monster from the most mysterious waters of the sea awaits at the very end. A beast so fierce even seasoned sea wolves clutch their amulets and whisper prayers to the Lord. The fight takes place in a special arena, and you'll have to pull off some masterful maneuvers to dodge its unique attacks.
Allies and Abilities
By defeating enemies, you earn experience and level up. With each new level, you get to choose from three random abilities offered by different helper characters.
Each of them has a unique power they may share with you — if they deem you worthy.
What will you trade your shiny gold coins for? A sudden meteor strike, the ability to summon toxic ghosts, mighty tentacles, or even more powerful and terrifying skills?
Each of these abilities is unique and affects the map and enemies in different ways. Your playstyle and survival strategy change accordingly. Adapt, maneuver, and survive — the sea doesn’t forgive mistakes!
Resources, Artifacts, and Mysterious Altars
During each run, you can find and collect resources: wood, stone, wreckage from old ships, gold — all of it useful for upgrading and equipping your ship.
Altars at sea can grant temporary boosts to strength, speed, and other stats. Mermaids can offer profitable trades for your gold and resources. Don’t hold back — sail forward through the waves and wind, and remember: fortune favors the bold.
Curse of Pirates is a deep and intense game where no two runs are the same. Can you survive the cursed waters and defeat all your foes?
In upcoming posts, we’ll share the backstories of each helper and lots more exciting tales from pirate life. So follow the game page, add Curse of Pirates to your wishlist, and don’t get lost in the dark depths of Steam!
Full sails ahead,
The Curse of Pirates Team
