changedSome of the performance improvements absolutely need a CPU instruction that is officially not available in Windows 7. Since Microsoft has ended their support for Windows 7, I have decided to end it in favor of better performance.

This significantly improves performance on systems with many cores, which are getting more common these days. For this to work, I need the InterlockedCompareExchange128 function, which is not officially supported on Windows 7. It may still work - it does on my old laptop - but there is no guarantee.
