Welcome behind the scenes of Cryoborn
Convergence.
The game has reached an important milestone
the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) phase , hence its presence on Steam! It is now fully playable internally, without bugs, with 1 playable class, 1 map, 1 boss.
This solid foundation will serve as the base for all upcoming content.
But you might ask, what exactly is Cryoborn: Convergence?
Cryoborn: Convergence is an action roguelite where the cold spreads across the terrain, threatening you, while also opening passages or closing some, making each run unique.
The game combines:
Fast-paced and readable combat, inspired by modern survivor-likes (Vampire Survivors, Soulstone Survivors, Megabonk, Risk of Rain).
Progression between runs via an account upgrade system and unlocking new content through in-game achievements.
Dynamic difficulty, where the cold and enemies progressively become more dangerous. You will need to find a pillar to leave the area and face the zone’s final boss.

February 2026 — Public Demo
Release of the first playable demo, including:
1 playable class, the Mage, with many magical abilities
1 complete map
1 boss
Multiple difficulty levels
Objective: showcase the full experience of one class in a unique environment, collect feedback, and improve the game fully in preparation for its official release.
June 2026 — Steam Next Fest
For this occasion, the demo will be updated to reflect recent development progress.
Many improvements will enhance the experience compared to the current demo:
Elite enemies with new abilities
New secondary bosses
Achievements
New unlockable content through gameplay
Possible account upgrades, while still allowing play without modifiers
Adjustment of pacing, difficulty, and visual feedback for abilities
Multiple small quality-of-life additions to make the demo smoother, clearer, and more representative of the final game
To consider whether to include a second class or a new map for this occasion.
July 2026 — Official Release
The game will not have Early Access; Vampire Survivor-likes are already a known genre, and 3D games like Megabonk and Risk of Rain already provide safe enough maps to reduce testing, allowing for a version close to the final one at launch.
This version will include:
Playable Content
4 playable classes, each with unique mechanics and builds:
Mage – abilities with incantations, burns, spirit summoning, teleportation
Paladin – use of light and accumulation of upgrades
Ranger – use of shadows to create clones and high movement speed
Druid – special upgrade: communion with the forest, allowing multiple gameplay types, plus shapeshifting
Each class will offer 2–3 distinct playstyles, plus about 8–10 shared playstyles with minor modifications depending on the class.
Maps and Progression
3 main biomes, each with its atmosphere, enemies, and unique bosses:
Desolate Prairie (included in the demo)
Enchanted Mountains
Floating Fortress
- Account progression systemunlocking new abilities, new traits, and bonuses between runs
Post-launch
Regular balancing based on community feedback
Potential addition of alternative modes or special events depending on reception
Performance monitoring and quick bug fixes
